The chopstick making was so fun! My wife and I were taught by Scarlett who was very helpful and after a couple of broken chopsticks helped us create our own! The process itself took about an hour and included choosing wood type, shaping, sanding and oiling. we chose to engrave aswell which was a great idea! would recommend to everyone anyone!
It was such a blast!!! Really recommend this experience in kyoto, being able to sharpen your own knife that you then take home is incredible. Jessie was my instructor and she was the best, she gave me advice not only on how to sharpen the knife but also how to maintain it and take care of it and also a little bit about the history. It is not as popular as Hashi making but I would say it's more worth it instructor: Jessie (she's so nice)
It is really fun and interesting to learn something from the culture. It is easy to do and the guides are very friendly and helpfull.
