Reviews
very helpful and accommodating team. they helped me with everything going out of their way. staff was super friendly and supportive. I saw whales, flying fish, turtles, whales and dolphins. everything and even more than what I expected. I'm so happy I did this.
The overall experience was pleasant. The boat arrived on time to pick us from our hotel. Tour guide/ staff operators were very polite & courteous and made efforts to spot whales & dolphins. While we did spot a few dolphins, we were unable to spot any whales. We also wish to highlight that there was no proper breakfast provided to us and it was only biscuits & water. Request you to look into this issue.
I want to write about how we were simply scammed. Like suckers. We paid 98€!!! But in the end they just took us to see the dolphins! Everything that is written in their advertising: doctor, insurance, breakfast, everything is not true. We were put on an ordinary pleasure boat and taken several kilometers from the coast to watch dolphins. They are beautiful, no doubt about it! But I could buy this excursion here at the hotel for $60 for two! When I contacted a representative, they started telling me that they couldn’t control the whales’ route, that it was unpredictable, but they didn’t take us on this route!!! They didn't carry it! Whales can be seen 50 km from the coast! I'm not a loser! And we were on dolphins. Then they assured us that they would try to organize a trip to whales and disappeared. All this is terribly unpleasant. That they are deceiving us tourists, thinking that we are such simpletons and spoiling our impression of this beautiful country
This is a once in a lifetime experience. Although we went during the off season and weren't able to spot any whales/dolphins, we had a great time in the middle of the ocean. Our tour operator pulled all the stops for us to catch a glimpse of the whales. We even got a speed boat adrenaline rush! When the water is less choppy ( November to May), there is a chance that you will 100% have a sighting. We were sent videos of past sightings and they were just magnificent ! Must do activity whenever in Sri Lanka. Trincomalee season is Feb to November but Whale watching etc is ideal from Feb to May.
