Review for: Guangzhou Half-Day Tech with Robotaxi Small Group Tour

We were welcomed to the tour by our guide Celine. We explored the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Experience Zone, Robotic Vending Machine, Haixinsha Omni-Space Intelligent Experience Center and took a ride in a Robotaxi. The tour ended with observing a drone food delivery. Many thanks to Celine for her patience with my elderly mum and her thoughtfulness in getting our names printed on 3D keychains.

Review for: Guangzhou Half-Day Tech with Robotaxi Small Group Tour

A very big thank you to Celine, our tour guide, for the half day robotech tour yesterday! It was such a very nice experience and very informative tour learning about robotics that guangzhou developed. Thank you as well for having patience regarding my senior parents' slow phase of walking, all the details regarding guangzhou city and for sharing more recommendations! Really appreciate everything most especially the very professional 5-star service! 🙏🏻🫡🤝

More about Guangzhou Half-Day Tech with Robotaxi Small Group Tour

  • Guangzhou Tech Tour: Decode the City's Living Tech Ecosystem
  • Most cities talk about being smart. Guangzhou is one of the few places quietly proving what that actually means — not in concept videos or isolated demos, but embedded into how a real city functions every day.
  • This tour is designed for travelers who want to understand technology in context: not just what exists, but how it scales into a living urban system — and why it works here.
  • The backdrop matters. Shenzhen became famous for building technology from scratch — a blank-slate innovation hub. Guangzhou took a more complex path: how do you upgrade a 2,000-year-old commercial city, dense and fully operational, with next-generation infrastructure — without disrupting the rhythms that already sustain it? That tension is what this tour explores.
  • We begin at a large-scale exhibition space where technology is presented not as isolated products, but as part of a functioning urban ecosystem. On the main floor, you’ll see how robotics, AI, and low-altitude systems are being deployed across industries — from logistics to city management. Upstairs, a more consumer-facing section showcases AI retail products and service robots, many with real pricing and near-market readiness. Together, these layers reveal how innovation moves from concept to commercialization.
  • From there, we board the APM — China’s first fully driverless metro line. Running through the core of Guangzhou’s CBD since 2010, it reflects a long-term vision of automation embedded into public infrastructure, years before “smart mobility” became a global buzzword.
  • We then move into the city itself.
  • Your autonomous driving experience takes place not in a testing zone, but in the heart of Guangzhou. Starting near the Canton Tower and moving through the Pazhou district — one of China’s most active digital economy hubs — the vehicle operates alongside real traffic, pedestrians, and complex urban conditions. The route itself becomes part of the experience: river views, dense city blocks, and everyday life unfolding around a system that no longer feels experimental, but integrated.
  • Sitting inside, without a driver, what stands out is not just the technology — but how normal it already feels.
  • By the end, you’ll have experienced three key layers of urban technology: system-level planning, real-world deployment, and everyday interaction. More importantly, you’ll understand Guangzhou not just as a manufacturing or trading hub, but as a city where innovation is quietly absorbed into daily life at scale.
  • This tour is for entrepreneurs, urbanists, and curious travelers who want to read how a city evolves — not through headlines, but through lived experience.
