What to expect
Du Yen Cruise invites you on a 2-day adventure in Halong Bay, starting with a traditional market experience. You will visit Sung Sot Cave and Ti Top Island to see incredible views, then participate in a Vietnamese tea & food workshop. After a delicious Set Menu or buffet dinner, there’s freetime to take photos, have a massage, go squid fishing, before taking a comfortable sleep in your fully-equipped cabin. Next day, you will kayak in Luon Cave area amidst the cool water. Then, we will return to Du Yen Cruise and have a lovely brunch while the boat goes back to the harbor.

We booked Du Yen Cruise expecting a 5-star experience, but overall it felt more like a 3-star. The cruise itself was good in terms of atmosphere—it’s smaller and more intimate, which we actually liked since it didn’t feel overcrowded. The tour guide was okay, nothing particularly standout but did the job. The itinerary was also just okay. Everything ran smoothly, but it didn’t feel as special or premium as we expected, especially given that it’s marketed as a 5-star experience. We were honestly expecting a bit more in terms of activities and overall experience. Not a bad trip, but not quite worth the “luxury” label either.

The boat was changed at the last minute, but everything went smoothly! The staff on board were very friendly and welcoming! The scenery was incredibly beautiful, and we could even take a bath! The only downside was that our original itinerary also changed (we didn't get to visit Surprise Cave or Ti Top Island), which was a bit disappointing! I guess that just gives us a reason to come back again! Overall, it was still a great experience.
Good to know
- Comfortable and breathable clothing and shoes are best for outdoor activities like hiking. Don't forget to bring swimwear, towels, and extra clothes if you plan to swim or kayak.
- Please bring sunscreen, hats, and long-sleeved shirts in the summer.
- Do not bring single-use plastic bottles or bags on board. You can bring your own reusable water tumblers.
- The Wi-Fi signal/internet connection can be unstable as the cruise moves deeper into Halong Bay.
- If you have any allergies or special dietary requirements, please inform us in advance.
- For people with mobility problems, you can skip hiking/ visiting cave activity and stay onboard. If you need any help during the trip, tell the nearest guide or staff immediately.
