What to expect
**About Funatogyo (Boat procession) **
Since this is a “Jichuruma Kougyou Boat,” normally only those who belong to the Kougyou are allowed to board the boat. However, we will sell the boat as a special offer. Fireworks in front of your eyes! This is a must-see value!
** Tenjinmatsuri Fireworks Festival **
Tenjinmatsuri is one of the three most important festivals in Japan, along with Kyoto's Gion Matsuri and Tokyo's Kanda Matsuri. The festival began in the 10th century and is now held annually on July 24-25. The main festivities are a land procession and a river procession with fireworks on the second day, July 25.

If you can somehow snag a ticket on the boat for this festival, do it! It was such a fun and memorable time, and I felt very lucky to be able to go with so many local people. Before I went, I thought it was expensive. Now, I believe it was worth every penny!!
