We had a lovely day tour to Gongendo Park and Kawagoe with our guide Matthewyssm. He did a great job and was very friendly and knowledgeable. We also appreciated his recommendations for other places to visit. Although the cherry blossom season was already at its end, we still really enjoyed the tour. Kawagoe was especially charming and made the day memorable. We would definitely recommend this experience.

I participated in a one-day tour on March 31, 2026. The weather was nice that day, and our tour guide, Matt Xiao Yan, was very responsible. He managed time precisely, keeping perfectly to the schedule. His English was excellent, and his Mandarin was also good. He introduced the attractions in great detail and answered all our questions. Although he mentioned that he does the same tour almost every day during cherry blossom season, he didn't just go through the motions; he still introduced everything with great enthusiasm. It was excellent. On this trip, we saw the beautiful cherry blossoms along the Shin-Kawagishi River, the cherry blossoms and canola flowers at Satte Gongendo, and the Kawagoe Clock Tower, and we also visited an outlet mall. I think it was an excellent value for the price and a highly recommended one-day tour.
We enjoyed our trip today very much which is very well organised and managed by our tour leader Matt. Matt has a very good command of English (which we don't commonly find in Japan tour guides), this is very essential for international travellers. Matt cares for the passengers also manage and control the timing very well and ensure we have sufficient time to cover all the itinerary. He provides extra power bank to passengers who need to charge their phone, very kind thoughts of him! We travelled quite often and we hsve to say Matt is one of the best tour guide we have encountered so far and my husband is very satisfied and happy with his service provided.
I recently joined an international group for a one-day tour, and our guide, Matt, was incredibly thoughtful in preparing information to share with us. His English and Chinese were both excellent, allowing him to cater to tourists speaking different languages. He gave us great recommendations for places to eat and even sent messages with maps of the meeting points at each stop. The time allotted at each location was generous, giving us plenty of time to take photos and even grab a meal. Although the weather wasn't great when we set off, it cleared up nicely at our destinations, and we got to see two beautiful cherry blossom spots.
The guide Matt Yan gives interesting explanation of the history of the places that we visited. The Mitsui outlet was a filler that could be replaced with a more interesting itinerary.
Our tour guide, Matt, was very responsible and punctual, and put a lot of effort into every arrangement. The driver picked us up on time, but the cloudy, rainy weather put a bit of a damper on things. I believe there would have been more cherry blossoms if we had come a week earlier or on a sunny day. We'll come again next year! 🌸
The trip overall is very amazing. Our tour guide, Matt Yan who is very approachable and gave us an unforgettable experience especially with the cherry blossoms. Also, he provided us with information about the places included in the itinerary which really became helpful for us to familiariaze with the place. Plus points also as he speaks english well and we can easily understand him.
great to join the tour to see Sakura in 2 wonderful places although the weather was not great, our guide Matt was friendly and bilingual with good English and mandarin , he was also considerate to texted the meeting points and Google Maps to WhatsApp groups ,provided ample time and information for us
Had a wonderful time seeing the cherry blossoms, despite the gloomy weather. Matt, our tour guide, was very friendly, caring and knowledgeable. He made sure everyone was looked after. Enough time to take photos and enjoy the beautiful cherry blossoms and the country side. Only disappointment (which was out of Matt's control) was the rainy weather and the not being able to get a boat ride on the Shingashi river (which cannot be pre booked).
