Reviews
This food tour was absolutely fantastic! Our guide not only took us to sample various authentic local delicacies and explore a historic market beloved by locals, but what truly impressed me was their extensive knowledge. While we savored each dish, the guide also shared the fascinating stories behind the evolution of these foods. Through the changes in these culinary traditions, I felt as if I witnessed the entire trajectory of the city's development and the spirit of the generations who have lived here. This was more than just a treat for the taste buds; it was a profound cultural experience. The itinerary was very well-planned and offered excellent value for money. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to deeply understand this city!
This was our very first food tour, and it exceeded all our expectations. Natt was incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable about the history of Chiang Mai’s food and local spots. The group was small, only about 10 people, which made the experience more personal and enjoyable. Natt was very attentive to everyone’s needs, always checking in to make sure there were no issues with the food and even asking about our preferred spice level. Every dish he introduced was absolutely delicious and very filling. The pink noodle soup, fresh lumpia (I forgot the exact name), mango sticky rice, peanut wrap with coconut milk and lettuce, and the dinosaur-shaped bread with kaya and condensed milk were all amazing. You truly get great value for what you pay. Highly recommended! Thank you so much, Natt, for making our Chiang Mai experience so wonderful, fulfilling, and memorable.
Natt, our guide was very funny and a good story teller. The food from the Michelin’s recommendation was very different to the Thai food in my impression. I actually liked the mango sticky rice the most, which was not officially a Michelin’s recommendation.
I liked that the guide was really enthusiastic and spoke English well. It was so convenient to be able to eat right away at the next place without waiting, and I appreciated that they asked about any allergies I might have. I definitely recommend this. Try this. They told us things like that, so it wasn't confusing, and they recommended several great restaurants, mentioning that they themselves had gone there last week and still frequent them, and that they were established places. It was so convenient because they gave us a definite list of restaurants. I went near the end of my trip, but I think it would be better to go at the beginning.
Thank you Nat! You're truly an amazing guide. I learned a lot from you and every single stop was interesting and insightful. You explained things clearly so we could better appreciate what we were eating. Though a short tour, it was 100% worth booking and I would highly recommend it.
Nat , an incredible food guide is very knowledgeable and passion! His expertise and enthusiasm made today's tour(25Oct2025 1pm) so enjoyable and fun. Thanks for sharing your love for food and recommendation with us!
Food: The day started with expected anticipation, and every dish we tasted, lived up to it. First stop was at a Fujian influenced noodles speciality, where the flat noodles curated from fermented pink tofu, jostled with a range of flavours and textures exploding in our mouths. The accompanying spring rolls, dipped in a tamarind honey sauce, were sumptuous. Six years of consistent Michelin recommendation told its story. Next up, the traditional not-to-be-missed Mango Sticky Rice in a bylane of Warorot Market - delectable. The next two stops were again at Michelin recommended eateries - one served animal shaped fried doughnuts, best eaten with their house made castard, the second, offering a very traditional dessert made from flat rice cake, dipped in coconut milk and sprinkled dried garlic crumbs. Two hours of culinary nirvana. Guide: Natt (Suryadev) is affable and extremely knowledgable about food (no surprise there) as well as history and culture. We learnt a lot from his narration.
I super love and enjoyed this tour. It may be short as it only takes 2 hours and 30 minutes but for this short period you can try different good food and learn a lot about the history and culture of Chiang Mai. Also thumbs up to our tour guide, Natt for being hands on because he makes sure it’s a small group so that he can talk and attend to everyone and he also planned the itinerary very well. Also, if you need suggestions where to go or what to do next, he is more than willing to help.
We had a great time on this tour. I forget the name of the host, but he was very passionate. In fact, we mixed up the days, and he let us book the new tour for free! He was very kind and understanding. On this tour we got a great local experience of trying 4 local eateries. Very local and interesting. If you want a true local experience this is the one!
Such a lovely experience! The tour was perfectly timed and well-paced. Our guide Natt was incredibly kind, attentive to everyone and shared so much interesting information. He even showed us old photos of Chiang Mai while telling his stories, which added a special touch. The portions at each stop were generous! You’ll definitely leave with a full belly. The walking distances between the spots were short, just enough to digest before the next delicious bite. Highly recommended if you want to discover Chiang Mai through its amazing food and warm culture!
