Day Trip from Sendai Station
Visit Matsushima, one of the Three Views of Japan, and Chuson-ji Temple, a World Heritage Site in Hiraizumi. The mountain of Chusonji is called Guanshan. Legend has it that it was founded in 850 by Jikaku Daishi Ennin of Enryaku-ji Temple on Mount Hiei. Ennin was the third head of the Tendai sect and a famous monk as the author of one of the three great travelogues in the world, "A Pilgrimage to Tang Dynasty in Search of Dharma." Thanks to Klook for providing this itinerary so that we can feast our eyes and have a very intellectual trip.
The entire trip was very smooth, and the driver, tour guide, and vehicle arrangements were all excellent. Because the website had mistakenly indicated that lunch was included, they informed us in advance that it was not included and refunded the meal cost to compensate us. The driver was punctual, polite, and drove safely. They dropped us off at our destination and arranged a meeting time. The time was flexible, allowing us to slowly explore Matsushima.
It was just the three of us, and unfortunately, there was no tour guide, only a driver for transportation. The driver's service and attitude were excellent. This itinerary is suitable if you're traveling with elders, as it eliminates transportation hassles.
