Okinawa Ishigaki Island Mangrove Forest Half-day Tour (SUP/Canoe)

This was a fantastic experience on Ishigaki Island. The location is very close to the city center, making transportation extremely convenient and saving a lot of travel time. While it might not be the most budget-friendly option, the overall service definitely makes up for it. Originally, I planned to try SUP, but because I had too many belongings, I decided last minute to switch to kayaking. It was my first time kayaking, and I was a bit worried, but it turned out to be very stable, and even beginners can easily handle it. I especially want to commend our instructor, Sota. He was incredibly enthusiastic and talkative, patiently and warmly assisting participants throughout the entire experience, which made everyone feel very comfortable. Most importantly, his English communication was perfectly fine, making it very friendly for foreign tourists, so there's no need to worry about communication issues. Paddling through the mangroves felt very peaceful and relaxing, and Sota even proactively helped take photos, capturing this unique experience.

Boating on the river is a rare experience for city dwellers. The coach was attentive and thorough. The activity was very safe, and the mangrove ecosystem was well worth seeing. The activity location was only a 15-minute drive away, making it easily accessible.

This was a great way to spend a couple of hours paddling through the mangroves. it was a windy day but the river is very sheltered so the wind was not problem. We had an excellent guide called Hirai who spoke great English and he gave us a lot of information on the mangroves and wildlife as we paddled. Hirai also took lots of photos and sent them through once we had finished. I’d really recommend this trip.

It was fantastic that our whole family—including our 5-year-old—could all ride together in the same kayak. Our guide MAKOTO San was absolutely wonderful. Even though she was working solo, she took fantastic photos of us, handled the heavy lifting with the boats, and gave great, insightful explanations throughout the trip. My kid had a total blast and my wife was thrilled. As the husband at the very bottom of the family food chain, seeing them both so happy made me extremely satisfied! Thank you so much for an unforgettable day!

Tom was an amazing guide! He was very friendly, patient, and professional throughout the whole kayaking tour. He explained everything clearly and always made sure everyone felt safe and comfortable. The mangrove forest was beautiful, and Tom also shared interesting facts about the local nature. This was definitely one of the highlights of my trip to Ishigaki. Highly recommended!

We joined with low expectations and were quite worried because it looked like it might rain. But once we participated, we realized how much we would have missed out on if we hadn't! We were all incredibly satisfied. Our guide, Sota, was so kind and led us with such enthusiasm. Our joy and happiness were doubled. There's no need to worry about the weather; we highly recommend experiencing this if you come to Ishigaki Island. The photos you sent are also wonderful! We had a fantastic experience with ADVENTURE PiPi Ishigaki! Communication before the tour was quick and efficient, and everything was explained clearly in English. Our guide, Taishi Akiyama (Aki), was friendly, professional and safety-conscious. He explained the mangrove ecosystem clearly and made the whole tour enjoyable. The calm river was perfect for beginners, and my daughter enjoyed SUP so much. The beautiful photos after the tour were a wonderful bonus. Highly recommended! Thank you, Aki!

We originally booked the pm tour, but it was cancelled due to the incoming typhoon. Luckily, Pipi rescheduled us to the am tour so we were able to join at last. We got the gear and were able to canoe all the way along the beautiful Miyara river. We saw many different animals during the tour, such as the mudskipper and kingfisher, which our friendly guide pointed us to. It was a wonderful experience and I would recommend to everyone who is looking for an encounter with nature in Ishigaki.
