Mengalum Island Snorkel & Sea Adventure from Kota Kinabalu

Highly recommend. The snorkeling tour is very professional and nice.Firstly, we took a boat to Mengalum Island and enjoyed the beach there. About 11:00AM, we went to two beautiful snorkeling spots in total. There were all kinds of fish in both places, and we also saw starfish and octopuses🐙.After lunch, just enjoyed chill time on the beach🏖️. I had a very wonderful and memorable experience in Mengalum Island. Happy new year and all the best wishes to the one who is reading the review😬

One of my favorite tours ever! Beach is so beautiful. Wayne did a great job in accommodating us from start to finish. The vibe of the beach is so nice and food is good too, will do this again when we visit Sabah!

First, I would like to thank Wayne, who took care of our family's trip. From hotel pick-up to drop-off, he was kind and helped us to have a safe and pleasant trip. We had children, and he made sure to make sure they didn't get seasick when we got on the boat, and he took great pictures. Maybe because he had lived in Korea, he seemed to understand the needs of Korean travelers well and could accommodate them. He sent us all the photos and videos he took after the trip, and he took us to a local restaurant on the way back, so we were able to eat delicious Satay that we almost couldn't eat. I could tell that he wanted to let us enjoy Kota Kinabalu without asking for anything in return. He also recommended a few reasonably priced restaurants, so I was a little worried. It was a long trip by boat and a pretty expensive trip, but thanks to him, I'm leaving for Korea with good memories. If you happen to meet Wayne at an activity, you're lucky!! Maybe because it was right before the holiday, we were sitting on the beach enjoying our time, and the guides gave us beer and drinks for the kids, and it was a very warm trip. Everyone was so friendly and laid-back, and the atmosphere was so great. I think it would have been a shame if I had only stayed in downtown Kota. It was the rainy season, so it rained every evening, so the firefly tour was canceled, but looking back, if you don't do the island tour, you can say that you haven't been to Kota Kinabalu. Be sure to do the island tour~~~

We had an incredible time snorkeling at Mengalum Island, and a big part of it was thanks to Wan, our amazing tour guide. He was super friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable experience. Wan not only helped us take countless photos, but he also captured stunning underwater shots with his GoPro. The photos are absolutely worth getting—they’re high-quality and a fantastic way to relive the experience! What really impressed us was Wan’s attentiveness and care, especially as we went on this trip with our parents, who are nearing 70 years old. He took great care of them during the snorkeling session, ensuring they were comfortable and safe at all times. He even used a life buoy to help guide them to spots teeming with fish, which allowed them to enjoy the experience without any worries. If you’re considering this trip, I highly recommend it. Make sure to ask for Wan—he’ll make your experience unforgettable, whether you’re traveling with friends or family!

first snorkeling experience and the guides were great and accommodating! it’s safe and the underwater doesn’t disappoint at all, beautiful corals and fishes. lightest waters, soft sand, most beautiful beach I’ve ever visited.

The tour guide Aaron was very responsible. Before the first dive, he asked who couldn't swim. Because I couldn't swim, he specially arranged a black guy to take care of me with a lifebuoy throughout the whole process. Thank you very much! Huantan Island is beautiful! I saw a lot of fish including clownfish at the first snorkeling spot. Because the weather was good and there was no current, I went to the third snorkeling spot to see sea cucumbers and starfish. I stayed at the morimori resort, and the lunch was also OK. The small regret is that I didn't see a monkey, let alone a monkey hair, during the mangrove trip 😂😂😂, but the sunset was amazing! Absolutely beautiful! I have never seen such a beautiful sunset and sunset! Look at the picture! I also saw a lot of fireflies after dark. They would fly into the boat. It was really great. It was a very cost-effective one-day tour. The tour guide was also very good. I highly recommend it!

this tour is actually great. we really enjoyed it. the kids enjoyed it. the island is amazing! the water the sand they're perfect. the staffs are super kind and they made sure we're safe and we'll have fun. whether you're a family travelling or group of friends,this tour is perfect for you. i also want to thank sir vince for taking care of us through out the tour. he's so reliable,i absolutely recommend him.

The island is very beautiful. The beaches are very similar to the Caribbean: white sand, turquoise water. really gorgeous and practically lonely. The staff was very nice and friendly and tried to offer a once-a-live experience. I really enjoyed this trip

I think I did a great job booking this tour. It's not easy to travel a distance of more than an hour by boat, but the boat is fast, so it was fun like riding a banana boat, and the color of the sea was really beautiful when we got close to the island. I would like to praise my guide, Ian. He was with me from morning to night, took really good care of me, and helped me do a good job on the tour! However, the amenities seemed a bit disappointing. The meals and amenities provided needed some improvement. But it's one of the tours I don't regret. If you're Korean, please bring cup ramen or snacks to eat on the island along the way! The food at the buffet isn't that good. Also, you need to have a waterproof bag because you get splashed when taking a boat. The guides are very nice, so don’t worry!
