These are stunningly beautiful jungles and an incredible experience. However, those who write that it's an easy walk accessible to anyone regardless of fitness level are exaggerating. You'll have to exert yourself! Especially those with little athletic practice. But it's worth it in any case! Pristine lakes, a diversity of flora and fauna, and clear guidance from the guide. I highly recommend it to everyone!
Every time I take the train across Hue, I look at the peak of Bach Ma mountain peeking out from the clouds and always hope to have a chance to visit here and finally I had the chance. The tour was quite easy, the day I went I had a fever and took sleeping pills and felt lethargic on the bus but when I got there I saw the beautiful scenery and forgot I was sick. Dang was an enthusiastic guide, always smiling and helping when people needed it. The lunch was hot and home-cooked. Because I went with a group, I didn't have a chance to go down to the foot of the waterfall, next time I have a chance I will come back and experience the way down to the waterfall. Everyone should visit Bach Ma and feel the scenery outside which is difficult to fully capture in pictures.
This is a really great trekking. The trekking difficulty is low. Anyone of any age or gender can do it, but since there is a valley trekking in the middle, Vibram shoes are better than regular sneakers. The guides who do their best and the Vietnamese friends who are full of energy. Western friends all had fun together. The weather in June is so hot that I am out of my mind, but the valley water is so cold that it is hard to swim for more than 10 minutes. It is so cool that I feel refreshed. They prepare a lunch box for me and it is delicious. If you come to Da Nang or Hue, you must visit Bach Ma National Park. If you like mountains, you must go. If you compare it to Korea, it is like Dutasan Valley and Geomryongso Valley.👍
Had an amazing trekking trip thanks to our incredible guide, Sam! He was knowledgeable, patient, and always made sure we were safe and comfortable. His sharing for nature and local culture made the experience even more special. Highly recommend him to anyone looking for an unforgettable adventure!
incredible hiking trip, albeit a bit short (you only do about 7km on feet). the lookouts are picturesque, nature is pristine and water in swim holes cool and refreshing. our guide Sam was very informative and provided great service. included lunch was great!
A fantastic day out, to see the national park outside of hue. The guide (Sam) was so helpful in guiding the group down the rocky climb/path to the lakes. The swim at the lakes was wonderful and refreshing. so beautiful to walk through the jungle.
We had an incredible hike in Bach Ma National Park, and what made it truly special was our guide, Truong. He was super friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and made sure we felt safe the entire time, especially since it was raining during our trek. His fantastic dark sense of humor kept us laughing, and his insights into Vietnam’s history added a rich, unexpected layer to the adventure. It felt like we were not just hiking but also learning about the culture and history of the country. Despite the fog and rain obscuring the famous views, we still had an absolutely amazing time exploring the lush jungle. Truong’s ability to make the hike enjoyable and meaningful, even in challenging weather, was remarkable. If you’re planning a trip to Bach Ma, don’t hesitate – it’s absolutely worth it, especially with a guide like Truong! Highly recommended. Thank you so much! ❤️
Sam is an awesome tour guide, very patient and knowledgable. He will notice the little animals hiding in the forest and assist you on the trail. The pickup from the hotel is confirmed through Whatsapp. You will certainly get your feet wet if you go on the adventurous path to the 5 lakes (why wouldn’t you if you’re going to Bach Ma), so members of our group had the bright idea of having rain boots they wore over their shoes, which I will definitely purchase now. I had waterproof Vessi shoes but it’s useless since my feet got submerged crossing certain waters. The lunch was really good and nutritious, a balanced typical viet meal.
It was really a great tour! Although it was raining and unfortunately we only had a view of a white wall of fog from the summit, it was totally worth it. The hike to the 5 waterfalls is super beautiful and adventurous. Sturdy shoes are definitely recommended here! If you are not that fit, I would only recommend the tour when it is reasonably dry. Swimming in the waterfall was really great and the lunch was also delicious. The tour started a little late due to traffic, so we waited quite a long time at the pickup location. Otherwise everything was great and our guide Sam did a great job!
Did some research on Bach Ma and decided it’ll be easier to book a tour with pickup service rather than DIY and boy it was a good decision. It rained on the way there & the road was narrow so it’ll be tough to drive on your own. Tour starts with a drive up to the summit of Bach Ma, you only need to walk 1km to get there and we had a packed lunch there. After that it was a short drive to the start of the adventurous trail which is a 8km hike. The first 4km covers rocky terrain right beside waterfalls which can be a bit slippery so pls wear proper shoes that can get wet & have good grip! Also our guide said when it rains there are leeches so it would be good to wear pants/high socks. We wore shorts & were lucky not to get any bites that day. It rains a bit too so bring a rain jacket! They provided disposable ones but I brought one of my own. Trail ends at this massive waterfall with good views! Would recommend this hike to people visiting the Da Nang / Hue area :)
