What to expect
Board a traditional Japanese yakatabune boat and experience a cultural journey rooted in Japanese history. The beautifully decorated boat, featuring seasonal cherry blossom elements and elegant Japanese interiors, is perfect for taking photos and creating unforgettable memories. Yakatabune boats were first used by aristocrats during the Heian period, became popular among merchants and commoners during the Edo period, and remain a unique way to experience Japanese culture from the water. The boat’s interior is decorated in a lantern style, with traditional Japanese design and seasonal cherry blossom themes, creating an elegant and unforgettable atmosphere. Depending on the chosen package, you can experience live shamisen performances, tea ceremonies, and other activities. Dining options include wagyu sukiyaki or Japanese desserts. The cruise sails through Tokyo Bay, offering views of iconic landmarks such as Rainbow Bridge and Odaiba’s vibrant waterfront. One of the highlights of the trip is watching the spectacular Tokyo Water Symphony musical fountain show near Odaiba – one of Tokyo’s newest popular attractions, where dynamic water jets, synchronized music, and dazzling lights illuminate the city’s nightscape. Each show lasts approximately 10 minutes and plays continuously, allowing visitors to enjoy it multiple times during the cruise. Please note: The fountain show may be temporarily suspended or have its schedule adjusted due to weather or operational reasons. The actual schedule will be based on the day’s arrangements. Multiple departure times are available. On this historic boat, you can enjoy a one-stop experience of culture, cuisine, and classic Tokyo charm. Please note: Tokyo Tower tickets need to be collected from the staff on board the boat. The tickets are valid for six months.

This was one of my favorite experiences of the whole trip! the staff were so great, the shamisen performance was incredible and interactive. Sukiyaki hot pot was delicious and there were stunning views from Tokyo Bay. Highly recommended!
what an absolutely wonderful experience! From the moment we got near the pier and the constant staff to guide us in the right direction, to the amazing service on the boat, the delicious food (and being taught how to cook it) and the lovely talented musician and singer, the whole experience was a night to remember. Thankyou to everyone involved, the service, the views, the gifts, everything was just beyond amazing and I fully recommend this cruise to everyone!!!
10/10. This evening dinner and cruise was everything you could hope for. traditional experience, fun to cook your own meal and yummy food. The performance was interactive and lots of fun! The views from the window and the top deck were spectacular. Karen was amazing, so kind and spoke great English. Will do this again on my next trip to Japan. Thank you
My husband and I had the best time here! We both agreed that it was one of the best experiences we had in Tokyo! experience: we were fortunate to have a Shamisen performance and singer on our tour! The view from outside was amazing. instructor: our host was so lovely, and knowledgeable. She was able to answer our questions, and made sure to try and engage with everyone!
What a special way to spend our last night in Tokyo! The view of the skyline was beautiful and the food was delicious. The show was entertaining as well. Yoyo was a great host. We felt very welcomed even as tourists!
One of the best experiences of our trip here in Tokyo. Very nice, friendly and attentive staffs. Very delightful, good food, clean and on time. It’s all worth it!!! Recommended!!! 5 star for you guys! Keep it up! God bless everyone! Merry Christmas!!!👋🥰🙏
What a wonderful experience! From the boat to food and service, it was great. Karen (Chinese) was engaging and she explained the journey details quite well.
Spent a golden-hour drift on a yatatfune in Tokyo Bay and it totally reset my evening. The low-slung wooden boat feels old-school in the best way—tatami underfoot, paper lanterns humming, the rail warm from the sun—while the skyline does its neon thing behind you. We slipped past Rainbow Bridge as the city turned pink, then cruised by Odaiba with the Ferris wheel ticking in the distance. Service was quiet and smooth: crew greeted us and Karen was great! Best part was the slow pace; you actually hear the water slap the hull and catch conversations instead of competing with a speaker stack. Go for the sunset slot, pick the tempura-heavy course, and ask for a spot on the stern side if you want Mt. Fuji on the way out. Tourist-y setup, yes—but unpretentious, comfortable, and weirdly calming. Worth doing at least once with people you like talking to.
This was a really cool experience, as soon as you get on the boat your food is already prepared and ready to be heated on the portable cooking device it was on, and the food was absolutely delicious !! As well as this, there was unlimited self serve soft drinks and hot drinks which was great. The staff were so welcoming and polite, and the lady who led everything was literally an angel- I wish I caught her name, she was so helpful, happy and just provided the most impeccable service !! The only thing i’d say could be improved was maybe including one free alcoholic beverage in with everything as you had to pay for alcohol. Despite that everything was great, we had a fabulous time !
I especially want to thank Midori-sensei for the shamisen performance; the performance was very professional and captivating. From traditional songs to interactive segments, it made the entire atmosphere on the boat very warm and full of Japanese cultural charm. The teacher not only has superb performance skills, but is also very friendly and interacts with everyone, allowing people to deeply feel the charm of the shamisen. It was one of the most brilliant highlights of the evening! I would also like to highly recommend Karen, the tour guide. She provided very careful explanations from the beginning of the gathering, reminding us of the time, location, and things to note, which made the entire trip go very smoothly. Her explanations were clear and thoughtful, and she was patient and helpful when encountering problems, making people feel secure and taken care of. The whole trip was made more relaxing and enjoyable because of her arrangements and leadership. The dinner was plentiful, the scenery was beautiful, the performance was wonderful, plus the professional and warm service, the overall experience was really very satisfactory. Highly recommended to travelers who come to Tokyo and want to experience the local culture and the atmosphere of a yakatabune (Japanese-style houseboat)!
