Κριτικές
Overall, I truly appreciated the friendliness of the guide and the comfort provided during the trip. It made the hike not just a physical challenge, but also a memorable and enjoyable adventure. Highly recommended!
Kate was our tour guide, she spoke little English but she was caring and approachable, and looked after us throughout the hike. When we had cramps, she would give us mini massages to make sure we carry on. equipment: Just take note that you’ll have to carry your own water that is provided by them, so don’t bring too much of your own.
the trip started morning and it was heavy rain during tht time. our tourguide Vha so helpful during the journey and cooks a lot of foods for us. the crib for the night quite decent but it’s fine. better prepare with the raining and cold weather there. overall the trip was wonderful and challenging.
The trail was challenging as expected; there seemed to be a never-ending ascent and descent, but I’ve got to say the experience was really solid! I was initially the only hiker that day, but fortunately, I was joined by another hiker at the last minute. The changing temperatures throughout the hike also added to its difficulty. But you know what? The harder it gets, the more motivated you become. The meals served were delicious! We reached the summit around 8:30 am, just in time before the cable cars started operating and the place began to get crowded. Shoutout to my tough and kind tour guide, Nu—you rock!
Susu was our guide. Tour was broken into 3 parts. Part 1 was 1.5h hike from Love Waterfall to Lunch Point. Part 2 was tougher, 1h 15min hike from Lunch to your lodging. We started at 0940 and arrived at 1530. You have dinner and setoff for the morning hike at 0400. Part 3 was a 2hr hike to the summit. 1.5L water bottle was provided at the beginning, and another 500ml after your overnight stay. Sleeping bag also provided. Good hiking shoes, hiking poles, headlamps are a must. The toilet at the campsite was yucky.
i booked hoping that there will be other hikers I can join but there was none. However, merchant allowed me to hike upon payment of a solo trekking surcharge. so it was just me and my female guide, Susi. the hike was challenging as expected, and it even rained in the afternoon making the trails more challenging. we had lunch at the first base camp at 2020 masl, and reached the second base camp around 4pm. Susu was fun and patient with me despite me being a slow hiker. she prepared my meals which were all modest and enough to satisfy my hunger after all the climb!! The next day, I decided to leave a bit late coz the weather was rainy and cloudy and was quite sure there won't be a sunrise. we walked till the summit... and I am so proud of myself to have hiked instead of just taking the cable car going up. But going down, I decided to take the cable car for La k of material time as I need to catch the sleeper bus to Hanoi that afternoon. Overall, the experience was very good and was well worth the money I spent. Thank you very much
The local tour company provided us seamless services including pick-up, food and chauffeur service to return to my hotel. The trekking guide was well trained and competent navigating tour members complete the tour. While the course was challenging, I never felt unsafe because of the guidance of the guide. This tour is highly recommended.
the guide and porters are very professional. They do provide a 1.5L and a 500mL water. The route consists of rocks, muddy soil, ladders and stairs. Please be prepared for rains as the weather changes in minutes. There are stops along the way, hence it’s not that tiring.
It is a very challenging hike for me. With all the climbing up steep slopes, steps. My group had 2 guides with us. One of them help me a lot throughout. Especially, more then half way. As it gets harder n harder. He held my hand n make sure I do not fall. I have to say , if without my guide guiding me through, i believe I would take much way longer time. I manage to arrived the summit at ard 545am, as we set off at 330am from campsite. Got to see the sunrise and all. All the efforts paid off!! I want to say a big Thank You To My 2 Guides!
"It is a tough climb but definitely possible" said one of my fellow hikers on the trip (Or maybe I made it up) is an apt description of the climb. In fact, if you pack light enough, it is definitely possible to complete in 1 day. You can let the person know to pick you up at your hotel(provided it is in Sapa) which is at 0830-0900. They will have a 20min drive up to the starting point. Trip itself: The ascent is split into 3 parts: 1. Starting point to base camp 1: 3 hours, 3-4km, 300m ascent, pretty manageable terrain, using all 4s about 5% of the time. 2. Base camp 1 to base camp 2: 4 hours, 2-3km, 600m ascent, This part is really tiring, in fact, I would argue the toughest part of the climb. That being said the trek planner did a good job and the path was well-maintained. Had to use the ladder at some parts, and used all 4s about 20% of the time(?). 3.1 Base camp 2 to Cable car station: 2 hours, about 2km, although it is technically 200m of ascent, you will have long stretches of downhill and uphill before reaching the cable car station. 3.2 Cable car station to summit: 0.5hours about 500m-1km, 100-200m of ascent it is just stairs, tiring, but it's legit well-made stairs. Try your best to catch the sun rise, waking up at 3.30am rather than the usual 5.30am. Even IF you miss the sunrise, you will have an empty place to yourself before the horde of tourists arrives. That gives you time to go down too incase you are feeling adventurous. Climbing up took about 8-9hrs moving time, but we took out time and rested a lot. Climbing down was much faster. Don't take away from your experience by taking the cable car down. The descent IS tiring, but looking at things from another angle was refreshing, plus, it felt easier. The guide: The guide was sa sa, and she spoke conversational English, although, don't have an expectation of having a discussion about the socio-economic situation of the Hmong in the larger context of the Indochina region. They will give you a good estimate of the distance left and also indicate the rest point. Ignore what other post might say, but, the Hmong guide is a good pacer, a good pacer, will push you but not overexert you. And that was the guide and the porter did. Do not ever compare yourself to the porter and the guide, they are INSANELY well seasoned to the climb, not to mention that their rubber boots are made from some god-given climbing material. The food cooked by the guide and the porter on the first night was on point. The equipment A note on altitude sickness. Unless you do this regularly you will most likely have some quirk while getting to the higher altitudes. I recommend bringing some panadol/nausea medicine just in case. In my group, 3 of us had a headache, with 1 puking. Although after a bit of climbing all was well. Bring extra water, they will provide you with a 1.5L bottle of water. I finished 4 litres on the first day and 3 litres on the second. I am 180cm, 85kg for reference. Your mileage might vary. You can refill your water on the first night. So do refill as much as you will need to last the next day. Do bring a warm jacket but not a sleeping bag, as it is provided. The night will be cold. While you can bring whatever bag you want, avoid bringing a SLING bag, try to at least carry a backpack. you can finish the trip with just one set of cloth IF it does not rain, although I recommend at least another pair of socks and undergarments in case it gets wet. Although I probably would not do this again, I had an amazing time + the views were out of this world.
