The best time to visit Dhaka is from November to February, when temperatures are cooler and humidity is lower. March to April is hot, and June to September brings the monsoon, which can slow travel around the city.

Most international travelers arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. Dhaka is also connected by domestic flights, intercity buses, and trains from cities such as Chattogram, Sylhet, Khulna, and Rajshahi.

Use ride-hailing cars, CNG auto-rickshaws, and private drivers for longer distances. In Old Dhaka, walking with a guide or taking short rickshaw rides is often more practical than relying on cars because streets can be narrow and congested.

Gulshan and Banani are best for international hotels, restaurants, and business travel. Dhanmondi is a good choice for cafes and a more local urban feel. Old Dhaka is closest to heritage attractions, but it is busier and better suited to experienced travelers or short sightseeing stays.
