The best time to visit Rawai is from November to April, when Phuket usually has drier weather, calmer seas, and better conditions for snorkeling, boat tours, and beach days. May to October is the southwest monsoon season, with more rain and rougher sea conditions, so always check boat tour updates before booking.

Fly into Phuket International Airport, then take a taxi, airport transfer, rental car, or ride-hailing service south to Rawai. The drive usually takes around 60 to 90 minutes depending on traffic. Travelers already in Phuket can reach Rawai from Patong, Kata, Karon, Chalong, or Phuket Old Town by taxi, car, or motorbike.

Ride-hailing apps, taxis, rental cars, and scooters are the main ways to get around Rawai. Scooters are convenient for short beach and viewpoint hops, but roads can be steep near viewpoints and busy around Chalong, so inexperienced riders should use taxis or private transfers. Boat trips are arranged from Rawai Beach, Chalong Pier, or tour operators.

Stay near Rawai Beach for seafood restaurants, longtail boat access, and a local coastal atmosphere. Nai Harn is better for beach-focused stays, swimming, and sunset walks. Sai Yuan is popular with longer-stay travelers who want cafes, gyms, villas, and quieter roads. Chalong is more convenient for diving trips, boat tours, and transfers around Phuket.
