We all stayed in Japanese/western rooms with private onsens. The rooms were old but well maintained. I have to give a low score as the hotel allows smoking and the smell of smoke was overwhelming. We had to open all of the windows and allow airflow during our entire stay. Thankfully we came in the summer so we could open the windows and there was a nice and steady breeze. They gave us a spray to spray on the tatami mats and carpet but the smell of smoke was embedded into the walls and filters (which needed to be cleaned). I would not recommend this hotel to anyone with allergies or sensitivity to smoke as I struggled with my allergies during my entire stay.
The hotel staff are extremely kind and helpful and their souvenir shop is fully stocked of local snacks to do last minute shopping. There kaiseki breakfast and dinners were amazing and we always left stuffed to the brim. The in room onsens were the best part of the hotel. Each over looking the ocean, allowing you to soak in the onsen, listen to the ocean and see the sky all while in the privacy of your own room. It made every issue we had a little more acceptable.

Hotel’s buffet is good. But if you are staying for more than 1 night, you might not want to pay for half board as the spread for breakfast and dinner doesn’t change. Otherwise, hotel is clean and comfortable. You need a car to move around though as it is not close to town centre.

The food is just OK. For the price I paid, I expect they offer in-room traditional Japanese cuisine dinner as other hot spring hotels instead of buffet at a big dining hall.
