Staff were helpful, was able to have meals at the Hotel.

What a find! Such reasonable rates for a warm, comfortable, clean and quiet room. Bathrooms and toilets are shared but there are so many that it feels like you have one to yourself. The restaurant was great, and also well priced. The staff were outstanding. It seemed none were over the age of 25 but very cheerful, friendly and professional. There’s a common living room and kitchen with all the basics.

Hotel room was upstairs which were quite steep for older people. Were woken by noisy women talking in a loud voice under us at the Pilates gym around 5 am and kept yelling for almost 1 hour. Room itself was good.

Everything was so perfect. The history behind the hotel dating back nearly 200 years & the location just blew me away. The town was just full of history & things I didn't expect to see & the modern amenities that were offered in the hotel were just awesome. If you're looking to travel to this town public transport is an option, but very infrequent, so you have to plan ahead as it's not serviced by Didi or Uber services yet. The scenery & surrounding areas are just awesome as I find this place a perfect town just to get away from everything for a while. Absolutely 💯 spectacular scenery and a beautiful place just to re-adjust your total mindset. It can get cold though. That is a bit of a problem if you don't like it. Hotel rooms are fully equipped with heating so you have no worries about this. Overall I would recommend this as a good place to come if you really want to get out of the rat race & totally reach out and recharge your batteries. Just amazing, would come back again.

A comfortable stay

The room was ok but noisy. Not sure there is anything you can do about it but it does detract from staying there. Absolutely loved the communal guest dining room and lounge upstairs - was great for meeting other guests.

The hotel is a beautiful, well-preserved colonial building. Although the rooms don't have private bathrooms, they are well-equipped and the shared facilities are very clean. There is no AC, but the heater and electric blankets work perfectly. All the staff were very polite and helpful.. we even had a lovely "little princess" take our keys when we checked out. The restaurant food was simply wonderful, the best we had during our entire trip.

The sitting room facilities were great allowing us to self cater when we wished to.

I paid roughly $300 for an entire week. This was excellent value for money given the cleanliness of the bathrooms, the easy access to dining, and my private room. It is roughly 35 minute drive on a fast-paced highway into Launceston. If you’re on a budget, and just need a quiet, clean place to lay your head. This is it!

The meals in the restaurant were very good, generous & reasonably priced
