No A/C and it was too warm. So many steps getting to the hotel. Given a view of the street - not what I booked. Front desk isn't staffed after about 11 pm. Fire dept pounded on our door down at 11:30pm because of the steam from our shower, cold water tap didn't work, and hot water was scalding hot. There was no audible alarm, and no peep hole on door to see who was pounding on the door. Thought it was a prowler trying to get us to open the door. Would not stay there.

For $30 US breakfast each morning was wonderful. There’s no place else to eat nearby so that is your main option. It had all the eggs and bacon, cereals, smoked salmon, yogurts lots of breads. The view of the lake Luzerne is fabulous from their balcony. Be sure to get a Lakeview room.

Property has no air conditioning with summers getting hotter each year, no refrigerator either. Staff were very helpful though. Hotel is not easily accessible if you plan or walking or carrying your luggage yourself.

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Royal Luzern. The view from my room on the second floor was just absolutely incredible! The staff, especially Elena, were most accommodating, polite and friendly. I will most definitely stay here again next time when I'm in Luzern.

The hotel room was very clean and the view was INCREDIBLE! Also the gentlemen who checked us in was very helpful. We had an issue with the air conditioner not turning on and he came up and swapped it out no problem. Would definitely recommend again stay here again! It is a little bit of a hike up the hill to get there. If coming from train station and taking the bus, take bus 14. It lets you out above the hotel and then you can walk down a hill instead of up.

Great view location above Lake Lucerne with easy access to old town center and train station approx 10 to 15 minute walk. Hotel gives a free transit pass for the central core during your stay. Old world class hotel, excellent breakfast (extra but worth it). Only downside is there is no central air conditioning but have portable air conditioners in the rooms.
