First of all let’s be clear, this hotel is in Japan, arguably there most hospitable country in the world. People apologize here for opening the door for you too slowly. (true story) But this hotel was a gamble. I have a friend who works as the concierge at a VERY high-end, VERY expensive hotel here in Kyoto. There was no way I could afford, nor would I ever consider spending that kind of money starting in a hotel. So I looked around and found that there was a hotel right across the street from the bus stop that I would arrive at from Yokkaichi. The price seemed unrealistic, considering the price of the other hotel where my friend worked. The pictures looked promising but the price seemed a little low. Even the cheapest Motel 6 nowadays costs more. But I gambled and hit the royal flush jackpot lottery! We got off the bus and walked less than 20 steps, went down a gently sloped stairway, entered the lobby and were greeted by both front desk staff as if we were the first guests they had seen in days. We were 4 hours early and we were told that we could leave our luggage in their care until check-in time. No charge. Thus began our actual stay at three most affordable, most hospitable, most clean, most, efficient, most reasonable hotel we have ever stayed at. Our room was efficiently designed, clean, and had amenities that I have never seen before in a hotel room. Toothbrushes, combs, razors, and (of course this was in Japan) slippers. Staff was very nice, room was clean and there is happy hour from 5:30-6:30pm with free gin.

We had an amazing stay! The staff were kind and helpful. The hotel offers many free amenities like karaoke and happy hour (free drinks and udon.) The room was very clean and large and a shared laundry machine and washer are available on site. The hotel is near several subway line entrances making it easy to travel around the city. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel

Very comfortable hotel. Good beds and linens, nice staff fun amenities including karaoke.

Great location, right next to the Keihan Railway Kiyomizu-gojo station. You are also a 10-15 minute walk to the heart of the Gion district as well as 15-20 minute walk to the Nishiki market. The double twin room we had was a typical sized room for Japan, bathroom was on the smaller size, but would not detract us from staying again. Staff was helpful, air conditioning worked great for the warm, humid days. They offer several complimentary experiences such as Matcha tea service, happy hour and free udon noodles. We did not have a chance to try any of these out though.

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in! The location was perfect with a bus and train stop very close. We didn't take advantage of the breakfast that was offered but we did enjoy the welcome drink and daily happy hour that was offered. The laundry in the building was extremely convenient and easy to use. We found the staff to be very helpful and kind. We also took advantage of the free shuttle service and it made getting to the main train station very easy.
