We checked in around 1:00 a.m. after two days of international travel and were shocked by the condition of the apartment. It was not remotely as represented in the photos or description. The most basic necessity of any lodging—a usable shower—was effectively unavailable. The shower ceiling was so low and sharply slanted that not only could adults not stand upright while showering, but even my children could not stand in the shower without hitting their heads on the ceiling. We had to squat to use it. This was not merely inconvenient; it was a safety hazard. The apartment also had multiple cleanliness and maintenance issues. The shower appeared dirty, there were stains on a towel, hair on the bed, and the overall condition of the unit fell far below reasonable expectations. The bathroom floor was elevated above the bedroom floor, creating an unexpected tripping hazard. My six-year-old nearly fell on his face because of the abrupt height difference. When I raised these concerns, the property claimed there was another bathroom with a shower. That statement was simply untrue. The second bathroom had no shower at all. It is difficult to trust a property that misrepresents something so basic and easily verifiable. Because of the condition of the apartment, the cleanliness issues, the safety concerns, and the lack of a functional shower that even children could comfortably use, we left the property shortly after arrival.
