Marriott Residences Salgados Resort, Algarve

Amazing place…. Especially great for honeymooners… as it’s quiet, lush, and the beach is amazing. They have a massage area on the beach… absolutely amazing! Great value for money. ALbufeira has some bars/clubs… did not visit them though .

Communication was very good, all our queries were answered timely and complaints were sorted out promptly. Property was surprisingly spacious and well-appointed. Breakfast buffet was excellent! Highly recommended for families.

I read through the reviews and was honestly quite scared of the metal door hook breaking in method but during my stay I had no such issue. The apartment self catering was beautiful, it had all the pots, pans and cutlery needed to cook. There was a washing machine and a microwave included. In the cupboard there was ironing equipment.Safe was included in the closet. Also very nice citrus shampoo, conditioner and soap. The housekeeping was very helpful and nice, glass water bottles was replaced everyday by the cleaner so you didn’t have to worry about buying water. Every room had its own electronic air con easy to tap and operate. I would recommend choosing the self catering option as the food options weren’t great. However there aren’t any shops in the hotel and the nearest grocery store was 20 minute walk. In the restaurant there was a buffet but it costed €35 pp. On the pool tables there was a QR code where you could order food or drinks to ur table which was really cool, however the fries portion was very small but it was €5. There were also ice cream served near the pool which included many flavours (I went for tiramisu and cookies & cream) 2 scoops costed €3. The hotel has a beach shuttle which was a friendly old style cho cho train ride which came every 30 minutes there and back. Also the bathroom has a wooden door but no locks. The balcony was big and probably my favourite thing in the room. The elevators seem quite old compared to the hotel itself.

Everything was excellent apart from the check in at the hotel we waited half an hour to check in. They need more reception desks and staff to help their visitors, reception area is not big enough for the size of the hotel. Breakfast was ample but got a bit boring after a few days, not much fresh fruit.

Great family resort.

The rooms are clean and comfortable, the food on the property was so good, the pools were wonderful, the beach shuttle was convenient and fun. I wish I could have stayed longer. I would love to return one day!

Lovely hotel, reception staff were amazing and made suggestions (& booked) trips & restaurants. Hotel is close to a few restaurants but it was easy to get Ubers to the marina & Albufeira old town for dinner

Family of 5 can’t fault anything from start to finish Welcome by front of staff lovely, rooms lovely, facilities lovely, food was excellent Great location peaceful and only a short walk (10/15mins) to loads of places to eat supermarkets etc, gale beach is a must visit, more sheltered in the cove than salgados (small train hotel run a life saver for tired legs) Will 100 percent be back and recommend

We absolutely loved Marriott residences in Salgados. The rooms, the hotel grounds, the restaurants and the amenities were all outstanding. We stayed with our 3 year old and 6 year old who is autistic.The hotel staff were very helpful in answering all our questions before we even arrived, and they were helpful and supportive throughout our stay. The restaurant staff Dmytro and Inès were always ready to give us a hand when we struggled with the kids. Thank you to Jessica for a smooth check in. The shuttle to the beach is fantastic. The hotel is well placed and we used it as a base to visit Faro and Albufeira old town. We can't wait to go back. Thank you everyone!
