Yilan is truly Taipei's back garden. The hotel is located in Luodong Township, within walking distance of the railway station, transit station, and Luodong Night Market. The hotel rooms feature hot spring bathtubs, offering an exceptionally relaxing bathing experience with views of the Pacific Ocean and the expansive Lanyang Plain. When the weather is nice, you can even catch a glimpse of Turtle Island in the distance. The Starlight Bar on the 24th floor offers phenomenal views.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel with my family. It is very child-friendly, with spacious rooms and facilities that made travelling with a young child much easier and more enjoyable. The staff were warm, welcoming, and always helpful whenever we needed assistance. The location is another big plus. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, and convenience stores within walking distance, making it very convenient to grab meals or daily necessities. Public transport is also easily accessible, so getting around the city was hassle-free. Overall, it's a fantastic choice for families with children. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, family-friendly hotel in a convenient location.

The location is very convenient, close to Luodong Forestry Culture Park, Luodong Station, and the night market. Unfortunately, other guests were smoking late at night, and the smell of smoke permeated from the hallway into the room, which was incredibly foul. I couldn't sleep well all night. When I reported it to the front desk, they only did a quick check.

We stayed for four nights on weekdays this time, and overall, it was quite clean. The staff were also very friendly. It's very close to Luodong Station and Luodong Night Market, though the breakfast wasn't particularly good. 😂 Also, the hotel offers free GIANT bicycles for rent, which is a huge plus! 👍🏻👍🏻

The accommodation area is quite large, consisting of traditional two-story houses. However, the facilities inside the rooms are not old; they are comfortable. It's a perfect blend of new and old, tradition and modernity. Guests can freely enter and exit the park during their stay. Although all the shops close at night, exploring the National Center for Traditional Arts at night offers a unique experience. While the breakfast area isn't as spacious as those in Tainan, all the classic Lakeshore Hotel dishes are available, offering an unforgettable taste!

The room I booked had many pictures, all showing bathtubs in the foreground. When I got the room card for the second floor, I had a bad feeling, as experience tells me it would be noisy, especially since the hotel is next to Luodong Night Market. However, it turns out that being near the night market but separated by a street actually kept it quiet. Still, not having a bathtub was quite disappointing. Upon closer inspection of the room photos, I noticed that pictures of rooms with only a shower stall appeared further down. Many hotels, like the Kailan Hotel where I stayed the day before in Toucheng, offer both a bathtub and a shower. Furthermore, while I can overlook not providing amenities, there was no hand soap at the sink. Do guests really need to bring their own hand soap? That concludes my complaints about the facilities. The staff, however, were all very friendly and polite. Although there was a small issue during check-in, it was resolved quickly. The breakfast was decent, neither outstanding nor poor. My only real complaint is that for a latte, they provide espresso from a machine and then you have to get cold milk from the cereal area yourself. First, this lowers the temperature, and second, there's no foam, so it's not really a latte.

I found this hotel online at the last minute and booked a double room. The reviews and room photos looked good, so I immediately made the reservation. Upon arrival, the front desk attendant was very friendly. It's great that there are free drinks and water available from the fridge! If you're driving, there's also a partner parking lot you can use, but I came by scooter so I didn't need it. Room entry is via a key card, not a physical key. The room was clean and odorless, and it had a dehumidifier and a working air conditioner. If you smoke, there's a balcony you can go out to, but I don't smoke so I didn't check it out. It's also very close to Luodong Night Market if you want to explore, and the Hi-Life supermarket is quite close for buying supplies. Most people are concerned about soundproofing, but I didn't hear any noise from the next room or other sounds. The only minor noises were from the dehumidifier's fan blades and the bathroom exhaust fan, which were acceptable and didn't affect my sleep. The bed was clean and comfortable. I would definitely come back if I visit Luodong, Yilan again!

The Lakeshore Hotel Yilan is a bit out of the way, and if you don't have your own car, transportation isn't very convenient. There aren't many shops nearby either. Compared to other Lakeshore hotels, it lacks hot springs and sauna facilities, which is a bit of a shame. The breakfast is excellent, but the evening snacks are quite ordinary.
