Can't fault the hotel, staff were friendly and helpful and it's a convenient location near shops/restaurants and the station. Laundry room was useful and not too busy when we visited. Room was clean and well equipped but pretty small with limited space to move around, although we did get an outside balcony on the top floor which was nice extra space. Breakfast buffet was limited for vegans and western options, just be aware if you want something other than just Japanese choices. Overall for the price we paid it was very good value for money.

Upon entering, the front desk staff warmly greeted us. Check-in was done via a machine, and if we had any questions, the nearby service staff were very helpful in assisting us. The room space was a bit small (perhaps because we had a twin room with an extra bed, making it a triple room). The hotel's rooftop hot spring and sauna were incredibly relaxing. We were also very satisfied with the freshly prepared ramen available during the late-night snack period. The breakfast the next day offered a wide variety of choices, including many delicious dishes made from local Oita agricultural products.

There's a large supermarket and department store next to Oita Station. The hotel is a bit old, but it's excellent value for the price. The public bath is well-equipped, and the rooms have towels, yukata, and pajamas! The staff were also very helpful in giving directions to the amusement park. Donki, Daiso, and restaurants are all nearby.

Una gran experiència per veure peixos en aquest petit aquari que també ofereix activitats fantàstiques. Vam gaudir de l'espectacle dels dofins esquitxant i de l'entretingut número de la morsa. Donar menjar a la llúdriga també va ser un dels meus moments preferits durant la nostra estada. Dins de l'aquari, hi ha una cafeteria excel·lent que ofereix arròs al curri Katsu, que és saborós i fantàstic. Sens dubte, tornarem a visitar aquest aquari: recordeu agafar l'autobús, ja que té una parada just davant de l'aquari.

An absolutely wonderful tour! The first stop was Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, with an 80-minute stay. It takes about half an hour to walk through the shrine grounds, where you can pray for good fortune or buy some lucky charms. The small street in front of the shrine has many great little shops; whether it's local snacks, souvenirs, the Sumikkogurashi specialty store, or the unique Starbucks, everything is very interesting and well worth spending some time exploring.
Next was the Beppu Ropeway, with a 60-minute stop. The cable car ride up the mountain takes about 10 minutes, offering beautiful scenery along the way. It's a bit cooler at the top, so you should keep that in mind. When we went up, it happened to be foggy, so we couldn't see the view below, but walking along the mountain trails in the fog was still a lot of fun.
We had nearly two hours in Yufuin. Starting from Lake Kinrin and slowly walking back, there are so many small shops to browse and shop at, as well as plenty of interesting snacks. Even though no lunch time was scheduled, eating and browsing our way through Yufuin turned out to be a fantastic experience. On the way back, we rode the Yufuin no Mori train. Although you can't see much of the scenery at night, it gives you more leisure time, and the seats on the train are more spacious, making it easy to use the restroom and much more comfortable to rest. It's a great choice.

We spotted tour guide Nana's flag first thing in the morning. She was sweet and extremely dedicated, and she didn't waste any time talking when it was time for us to rest and catch up on sleep! Her Mandarin and English were both fluent, so there were zero communication barriers. Since I easily get motion sick, I had added a note requesting a front-seat before joining the tour, and they saved a seat for me. The scenery along the entire way was truly gorgeous, and everywhere we went had a wonderful, comfortable energy. Because we joined the Takachiho Gorge boating activity, our schedule required precise timing. As soon as we arrived at Takachiho Gorge, Nana gave instructions on the meeting time and place for those not boating, and then rushed forward with the nine of us who were participating in the boating activity! It turns out that boating time is limited, and failing to return within the designated time results in extra fees charged by the boat rental shop! The boats are not the easiest to steer, but it is a lot of fun. I highly recommend trying it out if you aren't traveling with very young children or elderly family members—since you're already there, you might as well! I highly recommend this tour and am very grateful to our guide, Nana, for giving us such a wonderful day! By the way, the mango shaved ice has very poor value for the money, so skip it! The soft-serve ice cream should be worth a try, though!

Aquesta excursió va ser realment bona si us agraden els animals i voleu veure'ls de prop. Vaig gaudir de la guia, la Zhu Zhu era molt dolça i, tot i que parlava poc anglès, va ser fantàstica i es va assegurar que pogués seguir el ritme de la resta del grup. Era encantadora i amable, em va ajudar a demanar menjar a totes les botigues i em va oferir el seu paraigua i fins i tot les pomes dolces. Recomano molt aquesta ruta, veureu moltes coses en un sol dia!

La vista és panoràmica 😍 Agafeu el trenet, és força divertit. De tornada, recordeu de parar atenció a un petit volcà, sembla un púding 🍮 Ning Ning ha estat una guia turística molt dolça i apassionada. L'estimem molt ❤️ Ella és qui va fer que el viatge fos fantàstic.

Our Miyazaki Classic Tour to Takachiho Gorge and Kamishikimi Kumanoza Shrine was absolutely spectacular! Takachiho Gorge was breathtaking, with its dramatic cliffs, emerald waters, and stunning waterfalls. Kamishikimi Kumanoza Shrine was equally magical, surrounded by towering trees and a peaceful, mystical atmosphere.
What made this experience even more memorable was our wonderful tour guide, Cico! Cico was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, and passionate about sharing the beauty and culture of Japan. Cico made everyone feel welcome, kept the tour enjoyable, and ensured we had a fantastic experience throughout the day.
This was truly one of the highlights of our Japan vacation! We highly recommend this tour, especially with Cico as your guide. An unforgettable experience worth every penny! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
