Boarded at Taichung and got off at Tainan. Lived up to its hype! Only hiccup was the misunderstanding at the beginning. When the train rolled up, i asked the staff standing outside the car door if it was okay to board already and he waved me away. I sat back down for a minute and then decided to show him my ticket. Upon seeing that, he let me through. They gave me a cup of water and a cookie once inside. The seats were spacious and super comfortable. Through the whole ride, you are free to get up and explore the other cars. At the front are two karaoke cars plus a kind of reception area where i was told about a free item i could redeem if i followed their instructions. Another freebie was a wrist strap that you could design yourself. I believe this was in two different cars towards the front as well. Well-worth the price! Willing to do this again next time!

Longer duration train ride from Kaohsiung to Taipei on TRA theme train. Worth the time spent. Free drinks throughout - non alcoholic. Happy hour for unlimited beer. One meal provided. Onboard karaoke for passengers use. Theme merchandise, cutlery, cup, cup holders, napkins and wet tissues. So much more fun for the family and kids. Clean train cabin and better looking chairs. Comfortable 5 hours and 14 minutes ride just for the experience.

Extremely quiet and everybody was really happy to be on the train so the atmosphere was wonderful with passengers and staff all being very friendly. Please note that there are no 'arranged activities' or beer available on the 6am train from Taipei to Taichung as these begin later in the day, so the later trains may offer better value. my journey 2hrs flew by and I would have happily stayed longer. The panoramic windows are big and very clean so you get great views and can take good photos. Walk around the while train to see it and pick up extra drinks and stamps at the drinks/karaoke/hello kitty cars. Boarding at Taipei was easy. The train is listed as "Special" on the electronic board and the platform is given. We showed our e-ticket to the guard however he wasn't sure that it was a ticket but when we explained we had been told this was our e-ticket he let us through. Perhaps if you travel later in the day or the day before it is worth trying to collect a paper ticket to have as a souvenir.

We had an enjoyable experience with formosa train. The 2 hours trip was really short for this experience. We loved the food and the activity inside the train.

Underrated experience in Taiwan! We chose the Sanrio train to travel back to Taipei station. No meals onboard (because Taichung is just hours away) but they do provide unlimited drinks, some snacks and free karaoke (in Mandarin) . thanks klook!

no need to redeem any physical tickets and take note the tickets only becomes available 2 hours before the ride. make sure u are the right platform. not much activities, food is normal but you can take lots of photos as different theme in different carriage (yes u can move around freely). can also sing ktv in one of the carriage

A very good trip and I am so happy to board on this train. So much photos activities here and the staffs were amazing. The downside is not much activities if you are going to spend more than 3 hours here. The food is not unlimited as what they claimed to be but only drinks. Dinner bento meal wa normal. Toilets are normal no decoration like the train and not many in all decks and will sometimes get dirty and smelly. I love the karaoke sessions and the Stamping badge session. If you play the treasure hunt you will only get a packet of peanuts. A LOVELY TRIP OVERALL.

高雄から台北まで 利用しました。車内も車外もサンリオキャラクターでラッピングされていて、可愛いが渋滞していました。ドリンクも無料（ハッピーあわになるとアルコールも無料）、大人も参加できる手作り体験、夕食がついてきて、お得感満載でした。直前の予約でeチケットが届かず心配しましたが、メールでご対応いただき、海外にいても安心でした。サンリオが好きな人、可愛いものが好きな人、電車が好きな人にオススメしたいです！

very comfortable. seats were more spacious than the hsr. it comes with free food and unlimited beverage as well.

Cute and pretty sanrio characters on railway train. Taichung to Taipei does not provide any food but just unlimited drinks. Comfortable seats. Limited activities so more than enough time for me.
