There is an app for almost everything out there and when it comes to travel, the selection of available apps is huge, all of which are useful in their own way. On this blog post I’ve focused on the Best Travel Apps for Android devices that I found more useful and easy to use, not to mention how convenient they’ve made my trips.
If you are an iOS user, you can check my post of the 5 Best iOS Apps for Travel.
    Let’s get started!

    1. LoungeBuddy

Traveling can be exhausting. Especially when for some reason your flight is suddenly delayed. It’s understandable when it’s just a 1-2 hrs delay, but above this and we get annoyed, tired, grumpy, cranky, and just want to throw everyone out the window. Well, thankfully LoungeBuddy is here to save the day by opening the doors of over 2000 lounges in more than 600 airports worldwide.
With LoungeBuddy, forget about VIP memberships, mileage programs, and all that! Simply browse their extensive database of lounges around the world and view photos, amenities, and most importantly reviews from other travelers like yourself!
Browse, book, pay, enjoy! It’s that simple!

    2. Klook

You booked your hotels, flights, and you’re ready to go on your trip to a beautiful (tropical maybe) place to relax and forget about city life. Now the question is “what to do when you get there?”. With its database of curated travel experiences in destinations across Asia, Klook is the perfect tool to plan and book things to do during your trip.
One of the benefits of using Klook is that they almost solely handle e-tickets, meaning no last-minute faffing with the printer. You simply show your e-ticket at the attraction’s entrance or at the meeting spot for the tour you’re taking, and you’re all set to go.
But perhaps the thing you’ll love most about Klook is the savings. All of their travel experiences have been curated based on quality, service, and price, so you can be sure that you won’t get overcharged during your vacation activities. If you download the app and register, you can use the ‘Mobile10’ promotion code on sign up to get a HK$10 discount on your first booking!

    3. HotelQuickly

If one day you get to your hotel at your travel destination and discover that for some reason your booking is not in the hotel’s system, which means there is no room for you and it’s either you pay the normal rate (which is sometimes 40% more than what you get by booking online) or you try your luck at another place, don’t panic! Find the nearest wifi and download HotelQuickly, the app that will find you a comfortable place to sleep for a nice discounted rate!
Whether it is because of an emergency, an accident, because you got kicked out of your room by your significant other, or simply because you’re a last-minute kind of person, HotelQuickly will make your life easier, letting you check in within minutes of booking your hotel, even if it’s 3am and you are in the middle of an unknown city where no one speaks your language.

It might’ve happened to you: you’re getting ready for your trip but you have no idea what to pack. You check the weather forecast, but if it’s a place you’ve never been to, decisions on what to bring can get difficult and confusing. PackPoint is the app for you.
This app is a packing planner that creates tailored lists of recommended things to bring to your destination by analysing weather forecasts, length of travel, activities you’ve planned during your trip, and purpose of travel (leisure or business).

    5. Easy Currency Converter

We couldn’t end this list without addressing one of the most common problems that travelers face during their trips: calculating currency exchange. If you are travelling in a place like Southeast Asia or South America where each country has their own currency, Easy Currency Converter will help you calculate current rates instantly, so you can get more “bang for your buck”.
The app is available for free and will update automatically every time you are connected to a mobile network or a wi-fi hotspot; however, you can use it normally while offline.

There are still more apps out there to try out, but at least you have these 5 to try out and hopefully they’ll be as useful on your trips as they have been for me. Thanks for reading and if you have any suggestions for other posts or any questions, leave them in the comments section below.
