The rooms are large and hotel is a perfect blend of traditional and modern. The oustanding factor is the staff and service who go above and beyond and is the one of the best experiences anywhere.

For a hotel that is “luxury,” I would expect more. The television monitors on several of the treadmills in the gym were not working, the dry sauna was only available for men (should only men receive the health benefits of sauna?), the room service was only available at the times in which the restaurants were open (one of the points of room service is the convenience of access to food when restaurants aren’t open). The saving grace of my stay is the convenient location and thorough housekeeping keeping my room impeccable.

I liked everything about The 1000 Kyoto. Right near Kyoto Station, lots of restaurant options close by. Rooms, staff and breakfast wonderful. Always a cab waiting. We had so much fun in Kyoto, and Japan as a whole. Magical.

Really appreciated proximity to the Kyoto train station. Clean room, and attentive staff made for a pleasant 2-night stay. We also had a light dinner at the hotel’s Japanese restaurant. It was relaxing and service was wonderful.

The head concierge met us at the train station to guide us to the hotel. What incredible service. It saved us from fumbling around the very large Kyoto station and made our arrival and check in seamless. The rooms were very clean and I loved the pajamas and slippers provided in the rooms. The proximity to the train station made day trips easier and all the shops and restaurants at the station were an added bonus. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel in Kyoto if possible.
