Great hotel, centrally located on the Tozai subway line and next to Kyoto City Hall. Good breakfast buffet on the top floor overlooking the Kamo river and Higashiyama hills. We stayed on the 10th floor with a similar great view towards the Higashiyama hills. Although it's an older property, everything was in good shape and fully functional. Great air conditioning. We were there for some intense site seeing and appreciated staying here. We ate at the Café Lec Court in the lobby a few times when we were too tired to venture out for dinner. Food was good and the desserts were fun. Looking forward to our next stay there. For serious site seeing, I highly recommend this property. Travelers looking for a traditional ryokan or resort experience should look elsewhere.

Spacious, comfortable, elegant, great views, many sights within walking distance, near river as well as many shops and eateries, delicious food in-house, staff always helpful, subway access from basement

I booked the hotel based on location and the quiet area. Despite having rooms facing the river on the 25th floor the windows are not soundproofed so if you are a light sleeper this may bother you. As mentioned by others the charge for the pool use is very expensive plus you have to call for an iron or some ice! The food in the cafe was good. Staff were very helpful. Location was handy for shops and palaces but I think we missed out on some of the Gion area near the hills because we did not stay there. Had great breakfasts in Candida in the subway area under the hotel. Even though it was June Nishi market was slammed when we went, could barely walk through the street. Kyoto was mainly wet for us too!!!

Everything was exceptional. There were so many amenities and the staff was so patient with our very limited Japanese. They even let us check our bags after checkout so we could leave later, and arranged for a shuttle to Kyoto Station! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is going to Kyoto.

According to the Beijing Metropolitan Government Regulations, Beijing Metropolitan Government will levy accommodation tax starting from October 2018.
