We had such a great experience at the notebook-making workshop! The instructors/owners were incredibly accomodating and personable. They made the whole process easy to follow and fun. You could tell they really care and want everyone to enjoy creating something unique. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed, and it was great to spend time with such kind, creative people. They were especially great with our 3 kids and even made an extra effort to quickly fix a notebook that was dropped and broke before the glue had dried. We left with beautiful handmade notebooks and big smiles—highly recommend this workshop to anyone looking for a unique hands-on experience while traveling in Tokyo!

Masaki-san and Tomomi-san were absolutely amazing! it was a lovely experience, there was a lot of opportunity for customising your own notebooks. You can make four booklets with 20 sheets, two books with 40 sheets or one book with 80 sheets. they were super knowledgeable about their craft and they made it a lovely experience for me even though I was by myself. They were very clear with their explanation and even demonstrated it themselves so that I can see it better. Definitely recommend.

I booked a journal-binding class and it ended up being one of my favorite days in Japan. As someone who loves stationery, this activity was absolutely perfect for my trip. The instructors were so kind and helpful throughout the entire experience. The paper options were gorgeous and high quality, and we were able to create the entire journal from start to finish, plus personalize the covers. We got a peek into the back of the shop and learned so much about the company’s history and craftsmanship. It was such a mindful, hands-on project and truly a special souvenir to bring home. I highly recommend this class to anyone looking for a meaningful and creative experience in Tokyo.

This was such a unique experience and super fun to do during our trip. Our teachers were great and super personable. We learnt about the history of the company and how book binding works before we started the process to create our own notebooks. It was a fairly simple process but also complex and rewarding. I would 100% do this again in a future trip!

I really enjoyed my experience at Ito Bindery! I realized that I was the only participant when I arrived that day, and really appreciate that they still took the time to run the class instead of cancel it. There was 1 instructor and 1 translator, which i later found out were mother & son and that they are running a 4th generation family business that started in 1938. The class itself was fun, I could really tell that they take their binding craft seriously and every step was taught meticulously. Aside from that. Their products are so beautifully made and affordable. If you see them in other stores, definitely pick up a notebook or memo pad As a bonus, since I was excited by all the machinery and asking many questions about their business, the CEO offered to give me a tour of the workshop. I gladly accepted and don't regret it!

Ito Bindery's workshop was relaxing, cozy, and fulfilling. As a stationary enjoyer I loved being able to take my time enjoying the feel of different papers and selecting my materials. they provide you all the equipment (including an apron!) and show you step by step how to bind your own notebook. Not only were the hosts lovely and friendly, they explained their company's history, the why to specific steps, and supported you throughout the workshop to ensure the end result would be a wonderful souvenir you could proudly take home. They also assist with engraving your notebook to give it a personal touch. Personally, this was my favorite workshop in Tokyo, it was friendly and felt cozy and intimate when you walked in. Ito Bindery is a family owned establishmemt which welcomes you as soon as you walk in . I would highly recommend Ito Bindery's workshop to anyone who enjoys stationary and wants a lovely personalized gift to take home.

A wonderful experience not too far from the Askusa hustle and bustle. The Ito Bindery’s workshop is definitely a hidden gem. The customized notebooks I made are perfect mementos for my trip to Japan. Everyone was so kind and helpful, and I love that it’s a 3 generation, family run business. It was an incredibly comfortable atmosphere, so no pressure if you don’t know any Japanese!

My daughter and I had a phenomenal experience in this class. We had a great time, learned a lot, and left with personalized gifts to bring home. The owner even gave us a tour of the facility and answered our questions about the machines. I'd highly recommend!
