Reviews
The tour guide was very friendly. There were many scenic spots near Toshogu Shrine, but we didn’t have enough time to see them. We didn’t have time to have lunch, but the driver specially asked us to stay at Lake Chuzenji for a meal, so we didn’t have to go hungry. Lake Chuzenji is beautiful and difficult to get to without driving, but overall it’s worth going!
I went to this site with my friends and we enjoyed all the vibes, activities and events there. highly recommended!!!
It's quite convenient for lazy people to take a direct bus, but the time for shopping is still a bit insufficient. If you want to travel more in-depth, you can go on a self-guided tour next time.
I have participated in many activities, and this time the tour guide was the most unprofessional. I felt like a driver. He would only tell you what time to get on and off on time, but would not introduce the attractions at all. The attractions in Nikko are indeed worth visiting and getting to know.
I was in a hurry and thought there would be a traffic jam, but I arrived at the Shinjuku West Exit before 5 o'clock and didn't even return to Tokyo Station.
Not colorful maple or ginkgo tree leaves. Already all gone in Lake Chūzenji and Iroha Mountain Road. A quite disappointed tour. I don't recommend this tour, due to the Chinese company which arranged this tour in Tokyo. The tour started a bit little bit late since the tour bus picked us up a bit late. No "Go Go Travel" flag, so it was really hard to find the tour bus. I waited for 30 minutes and asked all the tour guides to find out the tour bus. Finally a mini van was approaching the meeting point and a woman got off the bus and asked her whether the bus came to pick up those who booked the tour and she said yes. None of us was not also able to find the tour bus at the meeting point on the arranged time. It was a self-tour so I studied the placed to visit. Yet a Chinese woman on the bus besides the driver tried to lead us. Unfornately, she had never been to Nikko. She did not know much about the places either. Because of her lack of professionalism and unnecessary kindness we wasted about 1 hour at the entrance to Rinnoji Temple so that we did not have enough time to see all the places we were supposed to visit and no time for lunch. Nothing to do in Lake Chūzen-ji since it was very cold and there were no beautiful and colorful Maple nor Ginkgo tree leaves. Still we were there for about 50 minutes. We should have had more time in Nikko Toshogu. I would recommend this tour for the end of October or the beginning of November. If it is a self-tour, study the tour in advance and just check the schedule. Don't follow or listen to a person who comes with the bus driver.

the beautiful temple was ornately decorated and imposing. the great atmosphere as well the autumn leaves add to the color of the journey eh.....recommend !
You have to watch the time yourself or there will be no maple leaves. For example, I went there at the end of November, because it got cold here very quickly and the trees were basically gone. cry
There is no guide. There is only driver. We cant even have time to visit Toshugu shrine as there was a long queue to buy ticket. We only have 2 hours to visit Nikko and find a place to have lunch. Dont follow this tour as it is just a van service.

First: it's difficult to find the right van without any signs, flags or company logos at the meeting point in Shinjuku, it was a mess. Second: the van was a bit old and run-down. Third: there was no "tour guide service" as described in the tour overview, but only a Chinese-speaking driver. Fourth: the driver did not drop us directly to each viewpoint, e.g. he dropped us at the lake and asked us to walk all the way to the waterfall by ourselves. Fifth: not enough time was allowed for each viewpoint, e.g. 2 hours for Toshogu Shrine but including lunch time on our own; 1.5 hours for both the lake and waterfall. Sixth: the driver kept on changing the pickup point, that was confusing too. Seventh: I think at least a small bottle of water should be provided to each guest on the van, as a token of hospitality.
