What to expect
Lovers of architecture and ancient civilizations will not regret a day tour to the South of Vietnam to visit the My Son Hindu Sanctuary, a cluster of partially ruined temples that have long been abandoned, though once a thriving religious site of the early Champa tribe. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the sanctuary features stone sculptures of Hindu deities and towers amid the tropical jungle. History buffs and furniture enthusiasts would also not want to miss the second stop of this day tour - a trip to the Kim Bong Carpentry Village via boat, a traditional yet lively village that boasts of unique carpentry styles and quality products that you could take home as souvenirs! Accompanied by a local English speaking guide, you're sure to discover much about both old and existing communities that play important roles in the development of the country. Enjoy a light lunch as you cruise back to the Nguyen Hoang Pier, from where you can continue the rest of your day's itinerary as you please.

Excellent half day tour at a fantastic price! My tour guide Lee was friendly and funny and had amazing knowledge of My Son (and Hoi An). My Son itself was so interesting; the traditional dance performance was wonderful; the homestyle lunch was delicious; and the boat ride back to Hoi An was relaxing and enjoyable. Driver arrived on time and was a very safe driver. Complementary water was provided. It is VERY hot in Hoi An this time of year (mid July), so be sure to bring hat, sunscreen, etc. Highly recommended tour!
My Son Sanctuary was good experienced to visit, their guide really knows the history to tell and informative, the last was boat trip back to old town
generally praise the site's unique historical significance as a well-preserved Cham Kingdom temple complex, highlighting the impressive ruins amidst the lush jungle setting, although some mention the damage caused by war, and recommend going with a knowledgeable guide to fully appreciate the site's rich history; most agree that a half-day trip from Hoi An or Da Nang is ideal, with the option to see a traditional Cham dance performance as part of the tour.
our tour guide Barry is really nice and young, he introduced the history of my son to us, the my son area is not big but you can see many historical sites like 7-12th century ! really worth to go once in your life!
We booked the tour at the end of December. The pick-up from the hotel worked perfectly and the trip to My Son Temple was also good. During the trip, the guide tells you various historical backgrounds about the temple. Unfortunately, our guide didn't speak English very well and you had to concentrate extremely hard to understand anything. The tour itself was very well organized despite the bad weather and is definitely worth it. On the way back to the boat, the driver got a little lost, which wasn't great. Overall, the trip was more than successful and we would book it again.
the guide really made the trip for me. he was very passionate and knowledgeable about the history of the My Son Sanctuary and he was very patient in showing us the significance and uniqueness of the cultural heritage in My Son. definitely a must-do in this part of Vietnam
very nice drive to My Son sanctuary. an hour drive to historic My Son. guide was informative and knowledgeable with history of the local people of this region. very easy trip in beautiful My Son. the lunch provided was sufficient and well needed rest. the short boat cruise ride was refreshing and relaxing after a long walk under the hot weather. recommend book the early trip to avoid mid day sun. enjoyable.
An excellent tour of My Son Sanctuary. Our pick up was on time and we had the most informative and knowledgeable guide. We were advised to dress appropriately the night before, and to hydrate on tour. We looked at the historical site and the dance performance show. We were there for a few hours. On the way back to Hoi An, we stopped for lunch, and I was surprised by the amount of food given. We had vegetable soup, tumeric chicken, stir fried veg, omelette with rice, which is more than expected for the price you paid for the tour. Overall a wonderful time to see something cultural.
We were picked up from Da Nang for only 200k dong/head. The tour was really infomative thanks to our guide “Philip” he was really kind and approachable. The itinerary was superb — really enjoyed this tour even if it was half day.
Very interesting place with deep history. Ms Dong was an amazing guide, so knowledgeable. We liked her so much that we booked another tour with her the next day. Great place to learn about Hinduism and the Champa kingdom. Be prepared for lots of rain in the jungle!
