We took the hop-on hop-off night tour, which we booked through Klook. Everything went smoothly. We used the MTR and walked to the Avenue of Stars, where the bus stop was located. The tour was easy and well-organized. We went to the second-floor deck to sit, and it was a perfect spot to view all the tall buildings, infrastructure, and streets, as well as take pictures. Overall, it was a nice night tour experience.
Great way to explore Hong Kong! The Big Bus Tour makes sightseeing super easy and enjoyable. Loved the open-top views and informative commentary. The night tour was stunning — a must-try for first-time visitors!
We love our experience there. If you are visiting Hong Kong for a shorter period, this tour can tour around Hong Kong and get to see some unexplored and off the beaten paths. The tour has an audio that with an info on the location you are at at that moment. Highly recommended tour
Personally, the exterior of the bus felt very Hong Kong-esque, so I really wanted to take the Big Bus. However, I hesitated a lot because it was about twice as expensive as other tour buses, but I was able to book it thanks to a night tour discount. I wondered if the route would be different since it costs twice as much... If the route is the same, I don't think there's any need to spend the extra money to book it. We were told the meeting point was in front of the Bruce Lee statue, so I waited around there, but the statue is in a small, separate area, so it didn't really feel like a proper meeting spot. Feeling a bit confused, I went down below the statue and everyone was gathered there^^;; It was supposed to be the 6:30 bus, but I think you can board starting around 6:00? About 3 to 4 buses arrive back-to-back. At first, they said the bus was full and told us to take the next one, so I thought, 'Awesome,' but then suddenly they told us to get on the current bus. I wanted to board the very first one, so I said I'd wait for the next bus, and thankfully they understood, so I caught the next one. I think we waited about 40 to 50 minutes for that one to departㅠㅠ If you have subsequent plans, it's probably better to arrive a bit earlier rather than right on time for 6:30. I thought if I boarded at 6:30, it would end around 7:10-7:20, but it ended around 7:48. If you ride it in late October, it's quite cold because of the wind. I'm not sure if there are other routes, but if it's the West Kowloon route, I recommend sitting on the left side. Trusting what others said, I waited on purpose to get a good seat and boarded the bus first to sit on the right side (all the other Koreans besides us sat on the right too), and it was a total disasterㅠㅠ The city views might be slightly better on the right, but the highlight is the harbor view/ocean view, so I definitely recommend sitting on the left side. Also, rather than just seeing the city views, if there is another route available, I recommend that instead. Korea's city views are much more dazzling..
Riding the Stanley Line offers beautiful scenery along the way, and the multi-language tour guide is a great touch! It provides information about the history of Hong Kong's buildings you pass. If I had time, I'd love to ride every line 😊. Plus, they give you a Star Ferry ticket to enjoy the harbor views.
If you have the budget, it's worth experiencing. I really enjoyed the bus tour weaving through the city's skyscrapers. Since the ticket is valid for 24 hours, I actually took it twice. Unfortunately, because of the long holiday (or perhaps Stanley is just in decline), the experience there was underwhelming—there wasn't much to see or do. That’s about it.
At first, I thought the price was a bit high, but the quality was there! It's a little far from the Avenue of Stars, and before you get there, you'll see a line of red buses and a long queue of people on the side of the road. We arrived around 6:50 PM, and the line was already long, and they sent one bus off at 6:55 PM. While waiting in line, a guide walks around with a reader and prints out the boarding pass receipt via QR code scan. We boarded around 7:05 PM, but it didn't depart until around 7:20 PM, probably because they were filling it up. They also hand out packaged new earphones, and the Korean audio guide is really well done. I thought it would be an awkward translation, but it's easy to understand because it's in a conversational style. I was also worried that the ride wouldn't be great since it's a double-decker bus, but what I've noticed during my trip to Hong Kong is that the bus drivers are really smooth drivers. I was able to comfortably focus on the night view. Next time, I want to take the daytime tour bus to explore Sheung Wan.
Taking an open-top bus tour around Hong Kong is convenient, and the audio guide through the headphones is very informative.
I used it on the first day of my trip. I was worried it would be cold, but thanks to the cool breeze and splendid night view, it was a great time. An hour went by so quickly. Highly recommended.
