One of the most famous natural wonders in the USA and in the world is the iconic Grand Canyon, a steep sided canyon that has been carved out by the Colorado River after millions of years of water flow. This immense land formation draws millions of tourists every year not only for its breathtaking panoramic views, but also for the multitude of sights to see dotted around its South Rim area. This tour takes you on an unforgettable helicopter ride to see its most stunning sights and angles. Should you opt for the Canyon Dancer tour, after departing from the Grand Canyon Airport on the helicopter, your first sight will be the Dragon Corridor, before getting up close to the Colorado River itself. Then you'll teeter on the edge of the Kaibab Plateau to get extreme panoramas of the canyon, before you head to Vishnu Schist, otherwise known as the Vishnu Basement Rocks. After marveling at these proterozoic crystal rocks, you'll head to the Tower of Ra, with its incredible 1,853 meter elevation, rising like a pyramid off the canyon. You'll head back through the winding dragon corridor before you make your way back. The Canyon Spirit tour will take you first through the Kaibab National Forest, a famous camping destination and a lovely patch of green in the canyon area. You'll then rise over the Point Imperial and the Marble Canyon over the Colorado River, marking the beginning of the Grand Canyon itself. You'll then fly through the winding Dragon Corridor before coming upon the Painted Desert, an area where the Canyon rocks are layered in such a way that they appear painted into different colors. Afterward, you fly off to see the Desert View Watchtower (also known as the Indian Watchtower), a 70-foot stone tower rising out of the South Rim and quite a romantic sight out in the desert. You'll head upstream of the Colorado River, branching off to the Little Colorado River, which takes you back over the Kaibab National Forest and back where you have begun. This is a high flying tour that you won't soon forget.
