"Cultural Properties of Ancient Nara" UNESCO World Heritage Tour

- Kyoto’s Most Representative Bamboo Grove Path: The Arashiyama Bamboo Grove is about 400 meters long, with towering bamboo intertwined with sunlight, making it one of Kyoto’s most recognizable landscapes.
- Close Interaction with Nara’s Sacred Deer: Nara Park is home to over 1,200 free-roaming sika deer, which are designated as natural monuments. Travelers can purchase deer crackers and feed them by hand.
- World’s Largest Wooden Building: The Great Buddha Hall of Todai-ji Temple is the world’s largest wooden building, housing a bronze Great Buddha approximately 15 meters tall. It was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998.

This was my favorite tour of my japan trip! The guide was very considerate and easy to talk to. He was quick to update, give facts, and answer any questions. A couple of tips: Katsuoji Temple - if youre going to get a daruma doll the line can be long so be prepared. I had just enough time to get the postcard stamped, few pictures and a daruma doll. Bamboo Forest - its super crowded. I recommend playing to enter the garden inside the garden next door and go to the bamboo in the back. The waterfall was beautiful and the reason I booked this specific tour (and katsuoji). There is a lot of walking so bring water, snacks and some good shoes!
It was a great tour, Marco was a good guide and the deers were so cute! Arashiyama was a bit crowded but you still get cute photos and my favorite was Katsuoji, they give you a postcard at the entrance you stamp a couple on the way on it and at the end of the trail you get a cute picture on your postcard it is a great souvenir idea 🩷
A very beautiful tour, the guide was very friendly, knows the history of the temples well, and explained everything in several languages. We couldn't go to Minoo Falls because the weather was rainy, but we hope that the weather will allow us to see it on the next tour. Despite the rain, we had a very nice day, full of memories and delicious food. Thank you very much.
Providing more written information could be beneficial for learning more about the history of the places we visited. We were with an elderly person, and the pace felt very rushed considering there were four tours. But in the end, everything was fine, and we really enjoyed the places we visited.
Alex is a amazing tour guide, he shared many tips and the sightseeing spots background story with us! I am glad that joining his tour which brings me a wonderful and unforgettable memory! thank you Alex!
Umi was a fantastic tour guide! She took us to stunning places that would’ve taken hours to reach by train or bus. She was very informative, spoke great English, and was incredibly sweet. She even took photos for everyone, which made the experience extra special. Highly recommend touring with her!
- Traveling to various places is convenient because it uses a small bus. Can park closer to tourist attractions - Have freedom to travel on your own - Time spent for Arashiyama is too little, unable to visit many spots, but for Hanamikoji, Yasaka Shrine and Nara, the time is appropriate - Part time guides should accumulate more experience. But it's usable.
Value for money!! thanks to Klook for this package. Our guide Nancy was great and she had various stories to share reg each location. The transport was bit cramped up but considering the price it was great. It was a smaller group with only 10 visitors. We were given enough time in each location.
I recently booked a Kyoto Nara tour through Klook and it exceeded all my expectations. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the history and culture of both cities, which enhanced the experience greatly. The itinerary was well-planned, allowing us to visit all the must-see attractions without feeling rushed. The transportation was comfortable and efficient, making it easy to navigate between locations. Additionally, our guide provided valuable insights and recommendations for local cuisine and shopping. Overall, booking through Klook made exploring Kyoto and Nara hassle-free and unforgettable. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a seamless and enriching travel experience.
The bamboo forest, gardens and shrines were beautiful and tranquil. The Yasaka shine was spectacular and the food markets had something for everyone. We loved feeding the deer at Nara Park and exploring the shrine. Our guide was very informative and we had an amazing day.
Good to know
Due to shorter daylight hours in winter, the Minoh Falls will be closed for visits from 12/10 to 3/15.
