Reviews
We arrived at the designated location at the designated time in the morning. The meeting place was a travel agency. We had to go in and register with the receptionist first. After everyone was gathered, the receptionist would lead the group members to the tour bus on the nearby street. There will be no tour guide after getting on the bus, but the driver will send the participants to the door of the winery. After arrival, winery staff will come out to receive them immediately, so there is no problem if there are no tour group members. The day we participated was April 23rd, which is St. George's Day, an important festival in Catalonia, so traffic was very congested in the morning. Otherwise, the receptionist said it usually only takes 45 minutes to reach the winery in Sant Sadurni d'Anoia. The itinerary visited two places. The first was a winery that produced sparkling Cava, and then visited the wine cellar where the Cava was stored. The underground wine cellar is as complicated as a maze, just like being in a military bunker. At this winery you will first taste four types of Cava. Afterwards, the driver will take the group members to the vineyard owned by the same winery owner, where they will take an open-top jeep to travel between the beautiful and vast grape farms, visit the winemaking equipment, and taste two white wines and one red wine. In the two places, different winery staff introduced the equipment, winemaking process, aging process and the characteristics of the wines tasted in great detail. This activity is worthwhile for travelers who want to experience a winery visit. While learning about the unique sparkling wine of Catalonia, they can also understand the brewing process of red and white wine. In terms of transportation, although there were only five people in the group, we still arranged a tour bus that could accommodate about 20 people, so it was quite spacious. The meeting point is near Gracias Boulevard, about a 5-minute walk from Verdaguer Station. In terms of the itinerary, the program is rich and eye-opening. The winery tour guides are also very humorous and friendly, and are happy to answer relevant questions. Overall, if you have time, it is an experience worth participating in. It should be noted that although snacks such as cheese and ham are provided during the wine tasting, the portions are quite small, and it is already 3pm when you return to the city. If you are worried about being hungry or drinking on an empty stomach, it is best to eat breakfast first. In addition, when riding in an open-top jeep, it is more easily affected by the weather in the wild, so it is advisable to prepare appropriate clothing according to the weather.
we had a wonderful time for the Vineyard tour. small group tour and detailed presentation on the wine types and history of Vineyard. we really amazed at the hospitality of the local Vineyards and awsome wines /cava we tasted. No hard sell of wine but the cava was too good to be missed.
This was a small group tour, with no more than eight people. The weather was beautiful that day, and traveling to the winery by 4x4 was a unique experience! The winery has a rich and interesting history. Delicious snacks were also provided during the wine tasting, which were excellent! It was a rare opportunity to explore the wine cellar deep underground... Highly recommended for wine lovers! My favorite was the Cava Rosé! After the tasting, there was no hard selling, which was commendable! The only downside was not being allowed to take photos in the Cava cellar, but that's understandable.
highly recommend!! the tour was so great that provide various wine and food, most of all good explanations for the vineyard and regional history. the experience was comfortable and the price is fair.
it’s a great trip!!! the vineyard is sophisticated, the cellar is huge, although they said it’s a medium size only, tried 4 cava, 2 white and 1 red, the cava and white were impressive
it was a great tour, the guide, Rob, explained the history of the estate and the production process of wines and cava. We tried 3 wines and 5 Cava between the 2 vineyards.
Good insight into the wine and cava making process, guides were very knowledgeable in their craft. Beautiful views as well. Could use some lunch in the mix though!
Same as schedule! Great experience. If visiting Barcelona and have time recommend to coming and enjoying this trip.
Lishen: It’s my first time to go to Spain🇪🇸Barcelona. Recommended winery tour. It’s totally worth visiting. Once you enter a winery, it’s so beautiful. The introduction of the winery is super detailed and full of history. You can taste the red wine Cava. The D Chocolate Dohao Food Winery is truly an unforgettable visit. I have to admire the staff of the winery. The full tour is very good and you can take a jeep. It is very cost-effective and the most honest one: no selling at all. If you want to buy wine, ask him yourself.
The staff carefully guided us through the Cava and white wine cellars. They explained that traditional Cava production involves hand-racking, which takes three weeks, while mechanical racking only takes three days. They have a traditionally made Cava produced using the hand-racking method. The staff member who introduced the Cava carefully explained the entire winemaking process. Highly recommended.
