I bought it when Klook was doing an event. The disadvantage is that you have to go to the site to reserve a seat, which is a bit thrilling. Because we arrived at Nagoya Airport this time, we immediately exchanged tickets and took the train to Nagoya Station to row the bus to Takayama. It was very smooth all the way to the site. The bus only had 14:30 left, and all the buses after that were full. My friend and I felt scared because we booked Takayama for the day, and if there was no car, we would go to Takayama. The next day, the bus to Gassho Village was only available for reservation at 7:00 in the morning. For the others, you had to queue up on site to try your luck. Of course, I chose the earliest reserved bus for insurance. Unexpectedly, it was full 🤪Except for the problem of having to reserve a seat on site, it was quite convenient to use. You just need to get the seat reservation ticket and show the QR code to the staff before getting on the bus (but basically they didn't look at it, they only looked at the seat reservation ticket🤣)
Very easy to use, open from your mobile phone. Before getting on the bus, show it to the driver. But you can reserve a seat when you get there. But it's okay. There are buses for people who don't reserve a seat on popular routes such as Takayama to Shirakawa-go. Good, you can get on the bus to go anywhere in the specified area according to the time period we bought.
The 5-day Shoryudo bus ticket was originally scheduled to start on 1/20, but due to the unsuccessful leave application, I changed my flight several times and spent a lot of money. Later, I wanted to go to Japan earlier and booked another airline ticket in advance on 1/18 To Japan 🇯🇵 Unfortunately, I went to Japan on 1/18 and asked the counter that I had to wait until 1/20 to open the bus tickets for Shoryudo... I was able to take the bus in the last 3 days... Because I chose a route that was too far for these 3 days It took a very long time to take the bus... Fortunately, I went to my favorite Gassho Village safely and smoothly and had a lot of fun ❄️ so it was not a wasted trip to Nagoya 😅 8 days of self-service Nagoya fun Yaya🫶🫶🫶
get this pass if your gonna visit Nagoya. i choose the 5 day open ticket. this pass covers train passes from and to/back to the airport. just present the voucher to exchange for a regular ticket. this pass is also use to go to Shirakawa-go , Tateyama, Toyama, Mitsutomo Nagano which i use all thru out my solo travelling. BUS PASS FOR LONG ROUTE. This pass does not cover CITY BUS.
It is very easy to redeem. I redeemed it in Nagoya, where staff in the station used a handle translator to facilitate the communications. The only backup is that you can reserve seat from the departing station. In the high seasons, make sure that you reserve the seat once arrived.
The price of the Shoryudo three-day pass has increased to 14,000, and the Kanazawa round-trip Toyama line is missing. To be honest, it is not as attractive as before. However, the official website of Shoryudo states that the ticket can be used on any three days within four days after it is activated, which is better than before. Flexible, but you still have to calculate the individual bus prices before deciding whether to buy Shenglong Road, otherwise it may not be cost-effective. This time I went to Shirakawa Township. Compared with 10 years ago, there were many fewer thatched houses. They were replaced by tile roofs. After all, the big project of replacing thatch requires a lot of manpower support. Shirakawa Township, with its population declining and the exodus of young people, will definitely also encounter maintenance. Although it is a difficult situation, I believe that the thatched gassho house (Wada family Kanda family) for people to visit should still be thatched in the future.
Highly recommended given you plan your itenirary well. My base is Takayama flying in from Nagoya. For the 5 day pass, I was able to go to Nagoya>Takayama, Takayama<>Shinhotaka Ropeway (Hirayu Onsen), Takayama<>Hida Furukawa, Takayama<>Shirakawago, Takayama>Kanazawa. Overall saved about 5K Yen. This is based on non-promo fares. Nohi Bus in Takayama offers some promo when you book roundtrip bus tickets. I would probably get this again, although some travel times are longer via bus instead of train, I prefer this Bus Pass cause I get to do sightseeing. Some are just about the same travel duration. Plus, it’s more comfortable in a bus.
Finally found cheaper mode of transport in Japan aside from comfortability since point to point recommended for families with toddler And elderly No Need to request for tickets everytime you ride just show the digital voucher Link sent by Klook Nagoya-Takayama, Takayama-Shinhotaka Ropeway, Takayama-Shirakawago, Shirakawa-Kanazawa
It is very convenient and cost-effective. I took the Meitetsu Airport Line to Nagoya city after getting off the plane in five days, and then went to Shirakawa Gassho Village, Kanazawa, Takayama, Shin-Hotaka Ropeway, Hirayu Onsen, Gero Onsen, and then from I went back to Nagoya from Takayama, and also used the included one-way ticket between Nagoya to exchange for a half-day trip to Gifu. Although I need to pay for it myself from Gifu to Inuyama and from Inuyama to Nagoya, it is already very cost-effective. It is also convenient to buy it through klook. The discounted price was less than 15,000 yen on the official website, and the whole trip cost about 22,000 yen. Even though the price increased, I still made money. I didn’t get a physical pass for the whole trip, but basically because there is a Japanese bus reservation system, you can make a reservation first and then get it. You can exchange for a physical ticket by looking at the ongoing pass page and the reservation number in the reservation letter. For routes that do not require reservations, you only need to show the driver the ongoing bus pass page when getting on and off the bus, and you can ride for free. It is easy to use and convenient.
This is a great pass if you want to explore central japan. You can explore a lot of place just plan your itinerary ahead so that you can maximize it. It also comes with a free train ticket going to nagoya from the airport. Tip: Take note of the bus schedules and plan your itinerary based on it, you can access it online. Go to ticket counters and reserve your seats atleast a day before your trip.
