What To Expect from Arashiyama & Nara Todai-ji Tour
Escape the busy city and take a day to explore the historic sites and ancient temples outside Osaka on this full day guided tour. After your city departure, you’ll be welcomed by the pink cherry blossoms of Arashiyama, a traditional district famed for its stunning mountain scenery and well preserved royal court. Here, begin by taking a wander through the bamboo grove. With towering stalks of green bamboo that seem to reach into the sky, you’ll feel immersed in an otherworldly atmosphere throughout this peaceful stroll. Depending on your chosen package, enjoy a buffet or set lunch before hopping on the Randen for a picturesque tram ride to Shijo-Omiya. From there you’ll be transported to the UNESCO site of Todai-ji and get up close to its star attraction, the Daibutsu Buddha, which as one of the largest bronze figures in the world, is a hugely impressive sight to behold. All the while your guide will provide you with in depth knowledge as you explore the beautiful grounds of this ancient imperial city. End the day by relaxing in Nara Park, the home of 1000 freely roaming tame deer and with plenty of deer food available, you can have a go at feeding them yourself!

this is the best option to cover the 3 places with a tour guide and make you feel closer to Japan traditions culture. our tour operator Maria was outstanding in explaining us the whole itinerary and making the trip seamless experience. the bamboo forest and Nara park is a must visit in Kyoto and it would be great to do it one day to save more time for the Gion / geisha experience. trust me you would need 2 full days to keep exploring Gion and the authentic time travel back in 8th century . hence very much recommend finish this 3 spots in one go with ease of travel via Bus. think wise thank me ! very much thanks to the tour and especially Maria for making the trip and experience to cherish !! ♥️♥️
Our guide Eiko was so kind and knowledgeable during the whole tour. We saw so many beautiful things and learned a lot about the history. Definitely recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes and being careful around the Nara deer as they can get aggressive with the food.
Would recommend: Tour guide was excellent. The deer were hilarious. All of the entry fees were taken care of. Lots of lovely places and views along the way. be warned, even in the off season this was incredibly busy.
The tour was very informative and interesting. The guide, Maria, was very engaging, funny and provided much knowledge and context behind the places we visited. She was very considerate, waiting for the others while they were taking a break. Overall, I would highly recommend going on this experience, especially for first-timers in Kyoto and Nara, for people keen about nature and architecture, and for those who are quite fond of deer... :)
Nice group tour experience. So many tourist because it's Golden Week during our trip. We we're able to see Arashiyama Bamboo Forest and Kinkakuji Temple in Kyoto. We saw the Todai-ji Temple in Nara Park. Was able to feed the deer too. The tour includes buffet lunch. Tour guide is nice. We get back early so we still have time for shopping :)
our guide Rika was super nice and helpful. she also spoke spanish! which was great so my mom who doesn’t know English could talk to her and ask questions. She was also very focused on the group and is always down to answer questions and help. But, I do not recommend booking the buffet lunch in Arashiyama because it takes time of the visit that you could use somewhere else and just eat an snack in the bus.
very happy about this trip. it was relaxing and enjoying the weather and eating a lunch buffet. as a 1st time Osaka traveller I recommend doing this tour to get an idea and if you want to come back again on your own.
The tour went smoothly. Hama, our tour guide was very pleasant. Arashiyama Bamboo Forest is an amazing place. 🎋 It is also nice to see the Kinkakuji Temple, a world heritage ⛩️ and of course the deers in Nara Park were so adorable. 🦌 It rained during our tour ☔️ but the overall experience was superb. 👍
Klook should specify the tour company so you know who you are getting. We had Jewel from Limon Tour Company and she was awesome. Limon was awesome. I also booked another tour in Kyoto but the other company was not as good. Klook doesn't specify during the initial booking what company you are getting. You only learn about the company during the day or the night before when the tour guide sends you some information.
Our guide was wonderful and helpful! The temples were all beautiful and the deer at Nara were so cute. I wish I could have stayed at each place a bit longer, but it was a great experience. highly recommend!
