Ginzan Onsen & Zao Frost-Covered Trees Tour from Sendai

Met with our awesome guide Johny the next day (I booked 2 separate day trips) for Zao frost covered trees. We got to take the faster line for the ropeway so we were only waiting for 20-30 minutes while others were 60-70 mins. unfortunately we had more snow so visibility was low but it was still beautiful. With the heavy snow fall the journey back was slightly delayed but nothing major. Johny and our driver were amazing.

Detailed information about where to meet with photos. We left in time and made it to Ginzan onsen during heavy snowfall which made the trip back take longer but the driver was awesome and we felt safe. our tour guide Johny was also excellent! since we had so much snow I would have loved to stay in Ginzan until the lights were turned on, but that doesn’t fit the schedule. I’ll have to return to Ginzan in the future.

Our guide Carter Sasaki was punctuate and friendly, he reminded us what we should check at every stop so we saved a lot of time. He took picture for us and keep us on the schedule, very responsive and helpful, totally recommend the tour, we had a good time.

It was amazing experience. we had enough time for Ginzan Onsen and it was like fairytale. Zao is like Frozenland I love that but it was so cold. our guide is Cartes Sasaki. he is so cute and so energetic. his energy makes the tour better. I am so happy to know him. moreover, onsen hotel was amazing experience.

Amazing tour! Loved it. Our tour guide Yulina did a really amazing job with all the translations and explanations. Ginzan Onsen was really magical especially when we arrive and it was snowing. The hotel we stayed served really good ryokan style dinner, and buffet breakfast. I was also able to enjoy the onsen at the hotel. Zao Snow resort was awesome! It was really cold, super windy, and very low visibility at the top of the mountain that day.

To visit Ginzan Onsen town, it is good to join this tour, it is too cumbersome to travel by train+bus. Though the journey is very long but is relaxing. Visited few sightseeing spots and overnight stay in a Ryokan. Very satisfied with this trip overall. Value for money.

Great value. Driving ourselves wouldve been a bit difficult. The driver is very professional and fast. getting from tokyo to sendai the same morning was a bit stressful since we got a bit lost. but were able to find out way just in time for the driver. even though she didnt speak any english, she was very polite and professional.

The tour guide is very nice and can speak Chinese, English and Japanese! ! The tour bus is also very comfortable to sit in! ! But the itinerary clearly included a fox village 🦊 but the cancellation and change of itinerary were not notified in advance and I did not receive any letter. Then I think the name of the itinerary should be changed so as not to mislead others. Everyone in the group was disappointed and surprised that they could not go to the Fox Village. In addition, the itinerary for walking and taking photos is also nice! I went up to the second floor of Zao Ice Tree today, but unfortunately I didn't see the snow monster because I was busy on the blizzard cable car. The tour guide will help you buy the ticket, don't worry, you don't have to worry about it. The great thing is that you don't have to queue up for the priority ticket 😊, otherwise it would be more frustrating if you can't see anything when you go up~
