- By car: About 10 minutes from Odawara Atsugi Road "Ogikubo IC" / About 5 minutes from Seisho Bypass "Odawara IC" / About 40 minutes from Tomei Expressway "Oi Matsuda IC" *There is no general parking lot at Odawara Castle Ruins Park. Please use paid parking lots nearby.

Fun place to explore - for at least half a day - the district around the castle is quite big and had a reknowned shrine along the back. The history museum was impressive and you can get cheap and fun souvenirs. Definitely buy the Klook tickets as it lets you skip the queue for the tickets which can get quite long. The views are also quite impressive. You can pay for additional entry to a ninja experience museum and try on Samurai suites when it’s not too busy or raining

Great opportunity to explore Japanese history. While not the tallest castle, Odawara Castle and grounds are simply stunning. During cherry blossom season, all the trees bloom at the same time and there’s a large courtyard with snack vendors. Great views of the Bay Area and on clear days you can see Tokyo and Kawasaki.

Buying tickets is very convenient, no need to wait in line. Odawara Castle's keep isn't very big, but the view from the top floor is quite beautiful, and the exterior of the building is very well maintained.

It was a very quaint tour of the castle's history and the artifacts in it. The place is uphill and the castle has 5 floors. Be ready in climbing a lot of stairs. But it will be worth it. After that, you can take a rest on Kinjirou Cafe or the tea house infront.

There’s a poster with QR code to purchase tickets online but it’s in Japanese! Luckily we could get the entrance tickets via Klook’s platform. So easy!! If you are in Odawara already,, the castle is a good activity to do.

Odawara Castle is a symbol of Odwara City. It was as an impregnable castle owned by the Hojo clan, the samurai family who governed Kanto region for about a century from the end of 15th century. Since then, the castle became a reserve for Hakone and Tokaido route and functioned as a cornerstone of defense in the region. The castle has renewed in 2016 after the completion of a seismic retrofit and renewal of the exhibition inside.
