Jiangnan is world-renowned for its ancient water towns, crisscrossed by waterways and dominated by Jiangnan-style residences, including nearly a hundred ancient mansions and estates, mostly built during the Ming and Qing dynasties.
The ancient town is surrounded by water on all sides, with waterways forming a "well" shape embedded in the town, giving Zhouzhuang its characteristic layout of streets along the water and markets along the streets.
It is a very suitable place to relax. In the morning, you can get up and feel the breeze by the river, eat some Jiangnan-style breakfast, and wander around.
