Taitung | Kata Culture Studio | Paiwan Tribe Cultural Learning Experience & DIY Workshop

I had a lovely time at the workshop making my own unqiue braclet. Although my mandarin isn't very good, I managed to understand the process with the instructor's great demonstration and basic english. She helped guide me through the different stages of melting the glass, combining colours and creating cool patterns on the bead. The workshop itself is in an old sugar factory, which has been converted into art and craft studios and eating establishments, so definitely have a look around!

It is rare to have access to the DIY experience of firing glazed beads at high temperature, and the teacher patiently explained each step, which gave me a deeper understanding of the meaning of each totem, and through creative thinking, I made a unique one by myself. The work is a great experience, and it is worth recommending to everyone.

It was the first time I played with firing, and I finally understood that the process of making colored glaze beads is so layered. It feels so fresh, but the passionate flame made us sweat profusely

The teacher taught very carefully and patiently one-on-one; even though my mind went blank after the explanation, I was still guided by the teacher's skillful hands to complete the work step by step! Because I picked the color and matched the beads myself, it is unique; I like this feeling very much ~ Thank you two teachers ❤️ for adding a lot of color to my solo trip to Taitung!

I think it's a great experience! But it's really hard to burn the glass~~~ I'm thinking about the teacher saving me while doing it. My glass beads are about to be rolled into dice, but the teacher will help to fix it later👍 Very fun experience activity

This is the perfect parent-child DIY experience! Although it was only when we arrived at the scene that we learned that children under the age of 12 could not complete the glazed bead experience alone, the instructor told them that as long as their parents were there to assist, they could still complete it together. The teacher carefully explained the meaning behind each totem, and let us finish the work slowly without hurrying. This is a journey with cultural connotations, memories and works shared by parents and children. Highly recommended!
