Puerto Princesa Mt. Magarwak Sunrise Trekking
- Enjoy a hike to the summit of Mt. Magarwak in Puerto Princesa and view the gorgeous sunrise that will make your climb worth it
- Take a picture of the sunset to make your tour a memorable one
What to expect
This trek in Mount Magarwak is a great choice if you're looking for something else to do in Puerto Princesa aside from visiting the beautiful beaches. Though it may be more suited for beginners, advanced mountain climbers will still want to give this a try just to see the view from the top of the mountain. Trek to 350 meters above sea-level to see one of the most beautiful sunrises in Palawan - few things can rival the serenity of watching the sunrise as the birds sing to greet the new morning, and this is exactly what awaits you in this tour. It will take you about an hour or so to reach the highest point of the mountain, but the guide will make it seem like it took no time at all! The peak shows you Palawan in a new perspective: sites such as Honda Bay, Puerto Princesa Bay, and Puerto Princesa City can be seen from this point. Once you reach the top of the mountain, you will be given a cup of locally-brewed coffee and hot pan de sal ("salt bread"), the most popular bread roll in the Philippines, which you consume as you rest and watch the sunrise. The pick up and drop off service makes the travel fast and easy, and you'll be back at your hotel before noon.

Reviews
hands down, booking this tour was the best decision I made in puerto princesa! Jasper is a very professional guide and made the entire experience so much better! hike itself is nothing strenuous, but views from the top are insane. nobody else joined us that morning, so we were back at the car before 7am.
Hands down one of the best activities I booked in Puerto Princesa! This was actually my very first hike and it was truly a great experience, even for beginners like me. Jasper, our guide, was very accommodating, well-prepared and entertaining as well. He made sure that my brother and I did not have a hard time and he made sure to take lots of pictures and videos for us. He took us to all the great spots to see the breathtaking views and gave us very useful hiking tips and tricks to avoid getting injured. He was also very informative and shared more about Palawan's history and environmental resources, which made the trip all the more informative. Seeing the sunrise at the top of Mt. Magarwak taking in the amazing view of Honda Bay while munching on ube hopia and cinnamon bread and gulping hot coffee after a long hike sits at the top of my best moments in Puerto Princesa. I highly recommend adding this activity as part of your itinerary in Puerto Princesa. Thank you so much to Jasper our guide for a job well done!
Our sunrise hike up Mt Magarwak was absolutely amazing! Our guide, Jasper, was very friendly and informative, and he planned out everything perfectly so we got the best sunrise views possible, and he was prepared for any potential scenario. 10/10 recommend this tour, it was amazing :)
Jasper is amazing! He's so maalaga. He even had a candle ready for us to sing happy birthday during the sunrise. Highly recommended guide. 💓
Here I will say admiration for both transport and service. The sum of the emotion of the sunrise, the breakfast served, no matter that it was not very good, but it was so tasty, maybe from the climbing😉
What this group found in Puerto Princesa is expensive, but the absolute value for money Karen is really good. We watch the sunrise and chat, and bring a beautiful day to this 2020. They will prepare coffee and water. I suggest to bring a flashlight. I use the flashlight of my mobile phone. It can also be a lot of broken stones on the way. It is not suitable for the elderly and children. It is a trivial matter for the mountaineering experience. It ’s about three and a half meters, we will sincerely refer you, and the guide will arrive at the hotel at 4:30, not 5 o'clock written here, about 6 o'clock at sunrise, see 8 o'clock or so, when you arrive You can have breakfast without 9 o'clock :)
My guide Jayjay picked me up from our hotel bright and early at 4:30am. My husband was not feeling well so I went on my own and it was very enjoyable. We trekked about 1.6km up the mountain. It was rainy which made the trail very muddy and slippery. The sunrise view was spectacular and Jayjay made some breakfast in a camping pack so we could enjoy the view with coffee and breads.
Our guide brought all the necessities for a short sunrise hike. he made sure we are all comfortable. Even when it rained a bit, we thoroughly enjoyed the climb.
Great experience with a funny and nice guide, he took videos and photos for us as well. Punctual in the pick up too
It is an awesome activity to do when in Puerto Prinsesa. Even if you are not a mountaineer, it is a good trek for beginners. Amazing sunrise view from the top. The local guides are very accommodating and supportive. You must try this experience.
