Some parts of the ship are still the same as they were back in the day, so if you're a military fan, you'll enjoy being able to put them in various places on the ship. If you don't want to spend a lot of time looking around, I think you can cover it in two hours. I think there can be a lot of traffic jams getting to the parking lot, but I went to the museum first thing in the morning because it seemed like people were going to the passenger ship terminal ahead, but there wasn't a lot of parking or visitors. I don't know how to get there other than by car, but if you're coming by car, I recommend Midway in San Diego, although it's a bit far. (I climbed the ladder in one day lol)

Visiting the Battleship USS Iowa Museum was an unforgettable experience. This massive historic ship offers a fascinating look into naval life and wartime history. Walking through the decks, engine rooms, and crew quarters made everything feel real and immersive. The exhibits are well-designed, with interactive displays that kept both adults and kids engaged throughout the visit. The volunteers were friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about sharing stories from the ship’s past. The views of the harbor added to the atmosphere. Overall, it’s an educational and inspiring attraction that I highly recommend when visiting Los Angeles.

A trip well worth taking! The history of the Iowa is introduced in detail, which is very exciting. There are also deck wood pieces left after the renovation that can be bought as souvenirs.

This historic battleship has great feats, complete interior compartments are quite extensive and have briefing videos that give a sense of the past. It is recommended that you visit.

Self-guided tour only due to the pandemic and I actually prefer it since you can do it at your own pace. Parking just opposite the attraction for $3 for 2nd hour (first hour free). It might look small from the outside but took us over an hour to finish the tour route. We were rushing since we started 75 mins before closing time. Could have easily spent 2 hours if we arrived earlier. Great views of the bay as well.
