Reviews
Although it was a sunny day on the day of the visit, the temperature was not high. Walking in the geothermal valley, I felt that the temperature was very comfortable. The park provided a generous buffet (a meal cost more than NT$1,000, but we did not eat it). Most of the food uses geothermal heat. Steam it so that tourists can taste the taste of food cooked by geothermal heat.
The reception staff are very enthusiastic and the driver greets every guest cordially, making people feel at home! The scenic spots are beautiful and the Maori culture is impressive. It’s worth visiting~
I loved witnessing the geothermal activity, and it was fascinating to learn about the kiwis they care for on the premises, including their unique eating habits. Experiencing Maori culture was incredible, especially seeing how seriously they take their craft. The students were passionately creating sculptures that showcased their connection to their heritage. We also enjoyed a delicious Hangi lunch, which I highly recommend since Hangi isn't readily available. In fact, this was the only activity during our stay in New Zealand where we had the chance to try it.
Chris was a great tour guide! We had a private tour in the van and learned so much about New Zealand. Te Piua was an enriching experience that we enjoyed!
Fortunately, it became a private group, and there were only 4 of us that day. There was a sick child with him, and he vomited when he was about to reach the destination. Thanks to David for his help, he took us to buy clothes for the child to change, and helped us delay the trip. He is a very responsible, helpful, detailed and funny tour guide. Recommended!
The driver was on time and gave us time to buy drinks and use the restroom along the way. The geothermal valley is very beautiful, and I also saw kiwi birds, which was good.
The visit content of the Maori Village is limited. There are kiwi birds and geysers. The whole hot spring geothermal is very spectacular. The half-day itinerary is relatively loose.
Great tour to Roturua by Auckland & Beyond Tours! Getting to see the geysers at the geothermal valley was amazing! Seeing the Maori arts school & Kiwi birds at the sanctuary was lovely & informative too! We also opted for the Hangi lunch! No regrets. It was delicious and tasted healthy as they dont use a lot of sodium. Raymond (and Angelo), our tour guide & driver were knowledgeable, friendly, funny & interesting. Had a good tour and overall, a pleasant trip to Rotorua (Te Puia) for the geothermal valley, kiwi bird & maori arts & cultural tour. Raymond (and Angelo) were punctual, reliable and really informative. Learnt a lot of things on the way to the destination & back. We were also reminded of the tour with an email which was helpful and reassuring. Van ride was comfortable too. Chips & water were also given by the end of the tour.
Informative guide and amazing scene, worth to join the tour.
It's very similar to Taiwan's Beitou Geothermal Valley but it's very large and the fountains you can see are spectacular. The final Maori performance is very special and worth playing and experiencing.
