Chiang Rai Doi Tung & Doi Mae Salong Full-Day Tour

DRIVER: Reached hotel on time, 8.30am (30 mins before trip), informative, able to speak basic English and has good driving skills; PLACES: Stunning view and good weather (12-16 degrees); JOURNEY: Far but safe. 1.5hrs one way.

The driver guide was very enthusiastic and took him to many places to visit and took very good care of him!

The Doi Tung & Mae Salong trip, chosen at the last minute, was truly wonderful. I'm grateful to our guide for the comfortable driving through the pouring rain and for showing us around. While the elegant Thai Royal Residence was lovely, the most memorable place was the Pha Hi village. Although we couldn't see every aspect of the Akha people's lives, it was a time for reflection, looking down peacefully at the hill tribe village and contemplating diverse ways of life. The scenic views and coffee at Forest Cafe were also delicious. It was fascinating to see such an easily crossed border while passing through the Thailand-Myanmar border region. The Thai border dog was black, and the Myanmar border dog was yellow!

I would 100% recommend this tour. Highlights were the Royal Palace Villa, Make Fung Garden and tea plantation and tasting. Note that the order of the day is in a different order (Villa and garden first, yummy Khao soy for lunch, tea plantation. And some extra stops at viewpoints and fruit stalls)

As we had already seen the "Giraffe women" the day before, our guide put together a superb replacement for us. Truly one of our best trips. Thanks to NIRAN KITPRACHA and our guide TONY.
