In addition to communication, we need to actively contact the travel agency via WhatsApp to get the departure meeting time and place! I have to say this was a wonderful trip. Phlong is a simple and pollution-free place with no commercialization and everything is natural. The resort we stayed in had a nice environment, the Thai food in the restaurant was delicious, the staff were very friendly, and the local guide that day happened to be a Thai who took us on bicycles to gain an in-depth understanding of ethnic minority culture, weaving, dancing, and strolling around the local markets, streets and alleys to see how the locals live. It was a great experience. On the second day, the tour guide took us to walk into nature and integrate into the terraced fields. Everything was as beautiful as a painting. When we visited, the rice ears were still blooming, which was extremely beautiful. We also happened to encounter groups of colorful butterflies flying around us. It was as beautiful as a dream and super worth it. Recommend this great trip to friends who like natural environment.
This trip is actually by accident as we were suppose to go to Halong bay but due to typhoon, it got cancelled. we appreciate the knowledgeable guides, comfortable lodging, and the opportunity to connect with local cultures. Its also nice to see celebration for each tribbe., Overall, this tour offers a memorable blend of adventure and cultural exploration.
I (26F) booked the tour alone and was very lucky to join nice people. our group was small and warm (5 people). Our guide Sonny was really easy-going and adapted to our wishes. Customer service was really good too and always available via WhatsApp. Individual pickup from the hotel worked well and food was great. The Moment hotel was okay, it had great food but the rooms had bugs in them when arriving. Otherwise it was clean and Mai Chau is incredibly beautiful. The price (~ 95€) is totally reasonable for what I got and I can recommend the trip to female solo-travellers. Please remember to tip the people who serve and guide you through your trip, they do such a good job :) btw I always felt safe and secure. Would definitely book again
Back to nature in the best way possible—lush rice terraces, fresh mountain air, and peaceful village life. The Mai Chau and Pu Luong tour is a simple, relaxing escape from the city. Highly recommended if you want a short, scenic countryside getaway.
Staying back at Mai Chau after the cycle tour and going on a hike in Pu Luong early morning next day is the best way to get the most of it. This is the perfect package. Vegetarians options is very limited in food. That should be improved. Guide was very enthusiastic, explained the heritage very well and showed all the places.
My wife and I recently took the 2D1N Mai Chau and Pu Luong Tour. We throrougly enjoyed it. After arriving at the htole where we stayed overnight, we were well received and looked after. Our tour guide on day 1 and her younger sister guided us sucessfully to bike around the village and take part on various activities as stated in the program. Mai Chau valley is beautiful and pristine. t people, including our tour guide are warm and friendly. We both enjoyed seeing old native ladies with black teeths. The dancing at night was impressive as the dancers were so professional, despite very few in the audience. Our tour guide on second day, Mr Ka Nguyen, was friendly and knowledgable. He took us to a local factory making disposable bamboo chopsticks. We truly enjoyed hiking in the Publong Natural Reserve with the beaautiful terrace rice fields as the background. The food served at lunches and dinner are nice and plentiful. Only -ve point is lack of tour guide from pick up to Maichau hotel.
Perhaps because there were so few of us, the trip there was by car. Not comfortable for such a long journey. Our young guide was adorable. My biggest regret is that the second day's walk was so short. Traveling so far for so little walking is a bit sad. The advantage is that there were only 4 of us. Afterward, if the offer wants to be transparent, let's note that we didn't go all the way to the natural reserve but only an hour from Mai Chau. It was nice, but it wasn't what was advertised. Then, after this too-short walk, we waited 3 hours at the hotel for the return pickup… too bad, long and tiring to ultimately spend so little time in nature.
The communication is not good. I have to contact the tour company the day before the tour. There are two options for booking this tour, 1 is the dorm and other is the resort. I booked the resort one, but when we went to Mai Chau, the resort staff took us to the dorm room. I asked the staff but they said they were not sure and had to contact the tour company. I texted the local tour guide but no response from him at all about the room situation. The front desk of the resort contacted the tour company, they said to give us the room number 16 in Vietnamese. I could understand their conversation since I am Vietnamese too. If anyone plan to book a resort, pleas be aware if you don’t speak up then you might stay in the dorm. The dorm is smelly and dirty. Room 16 is small but better than the dorm but not like the picture that listed. Room 16 has a queen bed, cold shower, no refrigerator and the mosquito can come in through the door.
The location is good and the guide is also good, but the rest time during the journey is too long, the meals are not self-service, and it is not very satisfactory to have to eat with others when traveling alone
Everything was great. Everyone was friendly, the weather was perfect, and I was able to heal myself by eating healthy food in a quiet place.
