Reviews
the tour package was wonderful..the guide, Michael is very funny and giving good history descriptions about the my son sanctuary. on the way back, we visited local family who is making rice paper and had lunch at local restaurant. Then back to hotel by boat..what an experience!...We enjoyed the tour.. highly recommended!!
This is a natural landscape and historical site located far from the city center, so it receives significantly fewer visitors compared to places like Ba Na Hills or Hoi An Ancient Town. It is quite a distance away, so if you're not particularly interested in natural scenery and historical sites, I wouldn't highly recommend making the trip. There are many ancient temples within the park, but according to our guide, over 80% of them have been reconstructed. This is because most of the temples were destroyed by successive rulers and bombing during the Vietnam War. If you're not someone with a deep interest in history, you might find that many of them look quite similar. It gets extremely hot in the summer, and there are no air-conditioned areas within the entire park, so the only relief you'll find is under the shade of trees. There are quite a few gnats, so remember to bring insect repellent. I purchased a package that included a rice paper making experience and a very unique home-cooked meal, both of which were special experiences. Overall, considering the price, which included a guide, driver, admission tickets to the attractions, the rice paper experience, and the home-style meal, the value for money is actually very high.
We had a great experience visiting My Son Sanctuary during our trip near Da Nang. The ancient temple ruins are beautiful and full of history, and the surrounding jungle scenery makes the place even more special. Our guide was informative and explained the history and significance of the temples clearly. I'd like to thank Ms. Thu for being so patient with my mother because she walks slow (so if you're travelling with elderly people, think twice before booking since there would be long walks here). Also, if you choose the afternoon tour, be prepared because it can get very hot, especially when walking around the ruins. I highly recommend bringing umbrellas, caps, sunscreen, and plenty of water to stay comfortable during the visit.
Thank you Micheal for a great time during my half day tour. your stories were captivating and informative in sharing about the Cham people and the significance of the temples at My Son. Wishing you all the best
I learned a lot about Vietnamese and Champa history by joining this tour. Our tour guide was Handsome Lung :) he grew up in Hoi An giving him the credibility of sharing valuable information about My Son Sanctuary. We availed the afternoon tour for the sunset and the place wasn’t packed with visitors. Make sure to bring umbrella, hat, and sun screen as it will be very hot. This tour also includes boat ride to the night market which is perfect if you want to visit Hoi An’s night market.
Traveling with family to My Son Sanctuary was more than just a sightseeing trip—it was a journey into history and culture. We began early in the morning, leaving behind the lively streets and markets, and soon found ourselves surrounded by the quiet majesty of the temple complex. The first glimpse of it's towers rising above the trees felt surreal, as if we were stepping into a story carved centuries ago.
We were so glad to have joined this tour to visit the world heritage (UNESCO) listed My Son Sanctuary (magnificent ancient architectural and spiritual site). Chau was a great tour guide who is very knowledgeable on Vietnam culture / history. We learnt about native fruit, population, export trades, etc but also how to make local rice paper / roll to eat (which was so much fun making it ourselves than expected). We also enjoyed the home cooked meal at a Vietnamese family home. We highly recommend this tour.
We had a wonderful trip to My Son Sanctuary booked through Klook. The experience was well organized, and our guide, Anthony, was super friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to help. He made the tour enjoyable and informative. The boat ride was a nice addition to the trip, and it was great to have a bánh mì provided along the way. Overall, a very enjoyable experience that I would definitely recommend.
Although we only had half a day, our guide Anthony provided a detailed introduction that helped us understand the long history and culture of this Champa Kingdom site. Anthony has a deep knowledge of the ruins and clearly explained any questions we had. He's a very capable guide. The park also offered a 30-minute traditional dance performance. On the way back, we even took a short boat ride, and the guide bought baguettes for everyone, which was a delightful surprise. This was a fantastic tour, highly recommended! 💯👍👏
