Hwacheon Ice fishing & Morning Calm Lighting Festival Tour

We booked this Hwacheon icefishing and unfortunately was cancelled (within 48 hours before the tour) due to the lack of participants in the tour. We were disappointed as we've looking forward to this activity, however the service provider upgraded us to the Pyeongchang ice fishing tour without extra charge or action, it saved us the work to get refund from this tour and rebook another one in such a short notice. Teresa from SA Tour was very helpful in the process. Going to Pyeongchang was great, good views, the tour guide Linda was exceptional. As beginners, we managed to catch 2 trouts. We wished more time was allowed on-site, so we couldn't try out other winter activities. Overall, it was fun and a great experience!

The tour guide informed the meeting time, how to get to the meeting place, and reiterated the itinerary and group members' precautions on WhatsApp in detail the day before. The color and license plate of the tour bus were also clearly informed that morning. Thumbs up! Unfortunately, there were some gaps in the subsequent arrangements: 1) Although we had communicated with the Korean restaurant for lunch in advance, in the end, all the group members still had to wait outside the store for more than half an hour in sub-zero temperatures before they could enter the store. Fortunately, the mixed mushrooms and tofu we ate tasted delicious and cleared our stomachs after eating meat for many days. 2) After entering the Hwacheon Ice Fishing Festival, the tour guide took us around for a long time. He asked many people before finally finding the ticket office, which wasted a lot of time. Ice fishing is interesting: you can see fish swimming by occasionally in the cave, but there may be no bait in the fishing rod, and few fish eat the bait obediently. The two of us fished for 2 hours and still couldn't catch it. Finally, a staff member gave us tips on techniques and waited for the fish to swim. I swung the rod horizontally at the right time and caught the fish in 10 minutes. I was so happy! However, I was tired even after fishing for 2 hours while standing still or squatting down. The light show in the Morning Calm Woods is very beautiful, and there are many check-in spots, so it’s worth going. It would have been better if we could have left more time, but it was a pity that we only had about an hour.

Love the ice fishing, so satisfying! Each one is also given one cooked fish that's fished by the previous grp to try, fish was so fresh and delicious! There were also sledding and other snow activities at the festival. Morning Calm only comes alive at 5pm when all the lights come on, a pretty sight despite all the withered trees and leaves. On the whole, we enjoyed ourselves, wished we had more time on each location! Note that night comes early (4.30pm) during winter in SK.

It is a pity that the related itinerary that was planned at the beginning was cancelled due to climatic factors that year (the ice layer was not thick enough). Of course, there was some compensation~ Later, there was a series of epidemics. me and my parents had lots of fun!! caught 3 fishes and had to put in the blue box they left there but its okay cause we will still be able to eat it and yes its really delicious!! ilove it!! garden of the morning calm is a must go too!! really pretty when the lights are on!!

Finally participated in the long-awaited Korean ice fishing event! !! Before the SA Tour CS tour, the whatsapp GP was scheduled the day before. The tour guide reminded us that the place would be cool, and two more shirts and gloves were needed. On the day of the tour, the tour guide was tied to the GP, and I heard the side. After eating, I went to the left arboretum to enjoy the night lights ~ Although there were D falling rain and D troubles, the scene was really beautiful. In summary, there are activities that are both dynamic and quiet. Both the friends of Yantan and Duyan have participated, and it has been recommended that a few friends from Zuoyang, Licheng, Li, and South Korea should participate in it! Big push! !!

Disappointed with local tour operator (SA Tour). (1) We booked English tour and received SMS that due to shortage of English guide we have to join Mandarin group. So 30% of our group are non-Mandarin speakers. (2) We were picked up in Myeongdong but on the way back dropped off at Hongdae and had to find our own way back to Myeongdong.

Ice fishing is really a must-do experience in life! There are many other activities to participate in in ice fishing areas, and there are many delicious food around. The grilled fish after ice fishing is also delicious. I will definitely go there again next year.

The ice fishing that I have been to last year is really super fun, and the service attitude of the staff is very kind. Chenjing Arboretum is really fun and the night lights are super invincible and beautiful! Because the children were a bit uncomfortable on the day, the tour guide was very helpful to go to the pharmacy to buy medicines, thank you SA very much! I will sign up again next time Yes, it's really convenient for two attractions to participate in a one-day group trip. It is recommended that people with children sign up!

Meet in Myeongdong and the driver will arrive on time. Arrive at Hwachuan and have lunch at your own expense. I started ice fishing again, and the staff helped to teach me. I caught my first fish very quickly, so happy! Then you can go skiing, which is exciting and fun. The tour also includes a free grilled fish per person (delicious). In the evening, take photos at Morning Calm Arboretum. I had a great day, the itinerary was well planned, highly recommended!
