Reviews
The full day trip with Chris our guide was thoroughly enjoyable. He even spoke in English and Cantonese (very fluently) to ensure we all understood him. The train ride was exciting to experience first hand after watching it on tv numerous times, and seeing people waving and cheering the train as it goes through the market was so memorable! To cap off the evening we went to the Amphawa floating market for shopping and dinner. The highlight of the trip was the boat ride to see the fireflies!
I'm Japanese. Although the tour was only available in English and Chinese, it wasn't a problem at all because the guide explained everything carefully in English. This is a full-day tour from morning to night, and I'm really glad I participated because I didn't have to worry about transportation. I joined alone, but most of the other participants were families or couples. The small group size suited me well. The guide was also incredibly kind, polite, and always smiling. I highly recommend the Amphawa firefly cruise! It was a memory that will last a lifetime!
We really enjoyed this tour! Our guide Alex and the driver were both very kind. We left CentralWorld at 9am and took the train from Lat Yai to Maeklong — it was crowded and hot, but worthwhile to experience the market up close. The van was comfortable and our group was small, which made it feel relaxed. Lunch was not included but the serving of the restaurant we stopped by was big and tasty. We also visited หลวงพ่อ นิลมณี temple, which was peaceful with very few tourists, and King Rama II Memorial Park which had some nice cultural displays. The highlight was definitely Amphawa Floating Market and the firefly boat ride — such a magical moment. Overall, highly recommended if you want to see more than just the city. Great value and a memorable experience!
Overall, I'd highly recommend it! The pick-up/drop-off location in the city is very convenient. The itinerary was planned perfectly, not too rushed and not too relaxed, a comfortable schedule and arrangement. The Maeklong Railway Market is very unique, and although the Wat Bang Kung (Tree Temple) and Rama II Memorial Park are not large, they are still very distinctive. Especially the Amphawa Floating Market at the end, it was very pleasant to stroll around, and it felt very Thai. The firefly viewing at the end was really amazing. It was the first time I saw such clear "white light" fireflies, which are different from the yellow light ones in Taiwan, and they were all over the trees, which was very romantic. If I had to point out a drawback, it would be that the seats in the van were a bit small, and there wasn't enough leg/knee room, which made the overall 12-hour trip not very comfortable to sit in. Coupled with the quality of the Thai highways, the entire ride experience was slightly diminished.
This is the best tour so far, the price is cheap and worth you can get into local people and traditional foods. the tour guide VANEEDA is very kind and informative and she can speak Chinese and English very well. recommended guys
Nice travel experience with family and friends. The itinerary was great, the places we’ve visited were wonderful. Our tour guide Alex was so kind and knowledgeable of each place we’ve visited. Our van driver was kind and great, too. MORE POWER KLOOK! Highly recommendable.
Tour guide Alex Chun is very professional and provides meticulous service. He can clearly explain the details of the attractions and tour arrangements in both English and Mandarin. The two highlights of this activity were excellent: the railway market and the boat trip at night to see the fireflies. It was very memorable and worth a visit.
9:00 AM is a good meeting time. The tour guide spoke in a mix of Mandarin and English, providing detailed explanations throughout the entire trip, which made us feel at ease! They were humorous and dedicated! We were fortunate to experience the Thailand railway journey, which exceeded expectations. In the evening, we took a long-tail boat and saw a beautiful sunset and sparkling fireflies.
We had 18 participants from all over the world and traveled in two vans. The young guide was a trilingual, speaking Thai, English, and Chinese, and he was great at catering to the participants throughout the tour. At Mae Klong, we high-fived people on the train tracks, and in Amphawa at night, we were able to see fireflies, making it a very memorable experience. It would be difficult to do everything on your own, but with this tour, you can see a lot in half a day, so it's cost-effective and time-efficient.
A wonderful and unforgettable journey, with just the right amount of time and not too rushed. I originally thought that we had not yet entered the rainy season, so I didn’t expect to go on a firefly trip. Unexpectedly, it rained the week before, and I was lucky enough to see a lot of fireflies. I took a lot of photos 😍. On the other hand, I originally thought that the Amphawa Floating Market was a place where goods were traded on the water, but it turned out to be stalls set up along the river, which was quite different from what I had imagined. But it's still a very worthwhile trip, thumbs up! It is worth recommending to independent travelers. The transportation connection is really convenient and hassle-free.
