SYNOPSIS
Maxim de Winter has been living through hard days since losing his wife, Rebecca, in an unexpected accident. While traveling in Monte Carlo, he meets "I" by chance and falls in love. After a happy wedding, the two begin their life together at Maxim's estate, Manderley...
Manderley is beautiful, yet it also has a gloomy, uncanny air. As if the dead Rebecca were still alive and breathing, everything in Manderley remains deeply steeped in her, and the housekeeper, Mrs. Danvers, keeps a stony face and shows her wariness toward "I."
"I," who dreamed of a happy life with the Maxim she loves, shrinks more and more, and misunderstandings pile up until their relationship is in danger. When "I" sinks into self-loathing and anguish, Rebecca's boat and body are discovered by chance, and the situation takes a new turn...
