It was pretty nifty to ride the cable car (more of a funicular) to see the greater Wellington area. The pickup location was in the middle of what seemed to be a business and commercial district, there's a street marker pointing left (just beside a Countdown supermarket) where you head towards and there's a ticket counter. Exchanging the Klook voucher for tickets took a while as they couldn't find my booking date at first. The staff was very friendly though, especially the driver who led us to the cable car. The ride was short but colorful (with the light display in the tunnels), passing through about 4 suburb stops. Not many people riding, mostly those who live there and a few tourists. Reaching the top you can do sightseeing on the view deck, check out the Cable Car Museum, or go around the large Botanic Gardens. We did a short trek on the gardens, enjoying the playground and a couple of trails (the cacti was nice), but as it was approaching nightfall we came back soon after to see the sun set - the sky was bathed in pink! It was already evening when we came down, the tunnel lights more pronounced. Loved the experience!

redemption of ticket here takes some time, the ride itself is so-so. just one way up to experience it once will do.

Actually, i should be giving No star at all! We bought 2 Adult One-Way tickets but was only given 1 2D QR code in the e-voucher, which we were pointed out (by the ticket counter lady) that this is usual. Assuming we were only given 1 ticket (QR code), we tried to redeem at least 1 ticket, just to realize we were not even able to redeem anything using the 2D QR code given, as the code given is not readable by their system. Terrible experience!

The views along the way and from the top worth taking the ride despite short distance, also made the trip to the Botanic Garden easy when walking downhill.

I prepaid to avoid a line. They didn't accept this, so I had to wait in line AND pay a second time. I would rate zero, if possible (since it didn't work).

The staff is friendly and helpful with my questions. The ride itself is short but scenic, while the light-up is definitely a plus. However, the peak station is a little bit dull that I see many people just walk around and get back to the cable car in minutes. While botanic garden should be attractive in day times, some information can be given to night visitors to make it attractive.

If in Wellington for the weekend only it's worth finding the time to ride the cable car. Travel at night to see the LED light display in the tunnels.overall it was great, thanks
